4th of July at the fort ...stay or go?

I have booked my June 2016 stay that ends June 30th, I think I can swing another few days and was wondering from a fort point of view ( I am sure the parks are super busy) is worth staying through the 4th? Does the fort do anything special on the 4 th?

I think the fort books up years in advance for holidays.

There is a golf cart parade and activities at the beach and the special fireworks at MK. It will be crazy busy also.

Maybe not. I read here people book holidays as soon as they can which is I think 500 days out.

I managed to get a cabin 2 months ago for the 4th - and it was on the F&F discount as well. AP discounts were also available.

The RV and campsites may be more booked up though.

Yes Campsites are unique and very limited.

Something like 700 Campsites versus 35,000 (?) rooms.

If you can't find a site now keep looking they show up often. There was just some this past week for this 4th of July weekend, and it has been booked forever! I should have booked it but waited a day and it is gone now

Actually, I'm talking about FW cabins - there are only 400 of those and that's what I was able to change/book using F&F 2 months in advance.

I'd try for it. There is a lot going on then and would be lots of fun. This far out try and book it. There will be numerous cancellations between now and then, especially at the 45 day mark.

There are plenty of people on here who have posted being able to land major holidays by being persistent and checking back often.

Yes I know.

I'm assuming (possibly incorrectly) that the OP is asking about campsites not the cabins and I'm lumping the cabins into that 35,000 of other rooms number since they are not even remotely camping.

Most people that want to go to WDW and camp only want to camp and if there are no sites they just don't go. They want to bring their pets or maybe sleep in their own beds. Hey at one time it was even cheaper. (growing up we always camped for 2 weeks every summer maybe spent one night in a cabin somewhere.)

So those 700 campsites are rare commodity. If someone can't get a cabin they will probably just look for other similarly priced options on site. Most people don't even think about cabins when thinking where to stay. Some would even say "WDW has a campground with cabins to rent, who knew? "

So just because you can get a cabin at short notice has nothing to do with being able to get a campsite. Thats what my point was.
