4th of July activities ?

I will be at the Fort July 3rd - 9th and was wondering if anyone knows of special activities going on in the Fort. I have seen pictures of a golf cart parade on here some were, do they still do that?

I like to start my July 4 activities with sleeping in, then a cuppa coffee, then fishing,,after that I'm game for anything.

We will be there from June 30 to July 5th. Yes, they do a great parade. Last year was our first year and we loved it. DH hates crowds, but really liked the home town feel of the parade so we are going back this year inspite of the crowds. You can watch the fireworks on the beach with hundreds of your fellow campers and the electric water parade. It is just a great experience at the Fort for 4th of July.

We have been going for years lots of fun. Definitely see the GC parade, Firework and that you are a Dis’er there is a GG will a lot of the regulars which is always a goodtime just stop by everyone is welcomed you get to meet a lot of great people.

Ft Widerness is our favorite place at Disneyworld- but- We were there over the 4th last year...Never again. It was a nightmare! The crowds were ridiculous in the parks; and at Ft Wilderness. (It was so hot that everyone was at the pool and standing in the water packed like sardines.) Alot of locals came over for the day. People were drunk and out of control; the kids were running wild and no one was even listening to the lifeguards. Security was called repeatedly but didn't know what to do with so many unruly people. So like I said, never again.

The crowds are really bad in the parks, so just stay at the FT and have a great time with us. We are going to have a great time at the FT. Great parade, this year I might even wake up for it. Todd if we bring your cart will you decorate mine???

See, you went to the pool and didn't come over with us. We lounged around all day, ate, partook of beverages, went and watched the fireworks, oh, and participated in the official parade and then made our own that night. You just needed to be in the right place.

I agree there were rowdy people. We chose to stay away from them.

We were there last year and I agree 100%. DH said never again over the 4th. We booked for the week ahead this year and then DH said it was too bad were weren't going to be there over the 4th because he really liked to parade and the small town feel of the celebration at the fort. We also enjoyed EP and the American patriotic singing. So we switched for one more try this year. We are planning on spending more time at the Fort and hope that the drunken partiers will be a little tamer this year.

I am so sad to say that we wont be there on the fourth,

We'll be stay'n home this trip to give others a opportunity to have a site.

So, are we invited to the GG? We are coming down sometime the week prior (right now the ressies start on the 26th of June) and are leaving on the 5th of July. Where will everyone be so we can put faces with names?

Can’t tell were we will be you will just have to loop. Just look at the pics you can’t miss us and look for the lime green Mickey’s but just look for the loop that has the most people hanging out like the pictures show. Everyone is invited just don’t come empty handed

If you are going to be there it is worth your money to get a cart. There are so many golf carts and thing to do only by cart. Here are pics of all the cart in the field by Pioneer Hall and all of these carts are people going to the beach for the Fireworks
