Hi! Yes, I am planning ahead but we will be taking our next weeklong trip in the summer of 2007. We were thinking of going down the 1st week of July (I'm a teacher and that is the 1st week I know I definately won't be in school!). Is it crazy? We will have a 3 1/2 year old but we have also been to WDW tons (leaving in 33 days for DD 2nd trip!) so if we don't see something-not a big deal- we'll go next time but are the crowds crazy?? We were there in 2002 over Easter week and didn't think it was too bad. Advice? Thanks!

Kind of like Easter week only much hotter, much more humid and much more likely for an afternoon thundershower.

Absolutely my LEAST favorite time to go to Disney (Followed by Easter and the rest of summer). WAY too hot and humid, WAY too many people so tempers tend to flare. Plus the almost clockwork afternoon storm... At least when dealing with the crowds at Christmas, the heat is ok.

If you don't mind heat or crowds, then there are some positives... The days are longer due to Daylight Savings Time, the parks are opened longer, etc. Plus the 4th of July fireworks are stunning. Me, I can't stand the heat (even after working there off and on for a few years and spending my early Childhood in FLorida and the rest of the south) and I dislike the crowds, so the two together do not thrill me. Easter to me is almost as bad, although not as hot.

My sister and Mom are Teachers also, and when we (my wife and I) go with them, it is usually the week before Christmas or the week after New Years depending on how the school board monkeys with the break schedule. Both are a lot cooler (but much warmer than where we all live now) and less crowded than the summer months, so something to think about i that is a concern of yours.

We have gone that week many times. Going this year too. If you know what to expect it is fine. Some people do not have a choice when they can vacation, like us. So make the best of it. It is hot but hit the pool each afternoon. It is crowded but fine. Do fastpass, take it slow, don't go nuts. You'll have fun. You are in Disney. I can think of many worse things to be doing.

Have Fun!!!!! Cya there.

Great ideas! That week may become "our" week. We plan on going every Feb for DD b-day (just a long weekend) and then spend a week every other year in the summer--the only time we can go. Christmas would be nice once and a while but I love Christmas at my house! Our district doesn't give us off a spring break-only a few days around Easter. So summer is our only week long option! Thanks for the advice!
