WE just came back from 10 days in December and had an awesome time. Met a lady there who said that July isn't as bad as you might think....My husband is off the week of the 4th so we will be traveling back on June 30-July 9th.....I realize we must get to the parks early but any more ideas for this time of yr? THanks in advance.

I went this summer July 4th week and it was not crowd at all. Plus I stay offsite and it was not bad. I have stay onsite to durning the July4th for a weekend stay.

I even drive down July 3th just watch for state patrol. I love going durning that week. Just drink alot water and stay in AC attrations. P.S. I am used to the heat becasue I work outside in the summer.

I was there this last yr during the 4th. Loved it. And i'm getting married there on July 2nd and will be there for my honeymoon.

We went last year for July 4th week and had a great time. We are going back again this year. I agree with others that the crowds weren't bad. The only thing that really stood out for us was that the heat seemed to get to the kids earlier than on other trips and they were asking to go back to the hotel to go to the pool very early in the afternoon. We spent a lot of time at the pool this trip. Surprisingly that didn't seem to be that crowded either.

I agree with the others. We were there June 30-July 5 this year and the crowds weren't that bad at all, especially first thing in the morning. The heat was pretty bad - bring lots of water and you may want to get some of those fan misters. Since I have a toddler, we always spent early afternoon back at the resort for his nap so we missed the hottest part of the day. Chances are we will do a 4th of July trip there again in the future, since it works so well with vacation days.

Im thinking about the same week this year. DH and I were finalizing some plans for our trip in 34 days and I broached the subject of possibly going back during his July shutdown. He has to use vacation days anyway . Although we were planning a whole family trip with my parents, my sister and her family for December. It would be awesome to do WDW 3 times in a year for me!!

I just wanted to say thanks for your insight. I am not the OP but this topic has been weighing heavy on my mind.

My 30th B-day is July 1st...I am having a hard time about it (I know its just another year). So I asked DH about going this year for my B-day. We had made the plans to go but b/c of the holiday, we could not afford the airfare. Plus, we heard the crowds we really bad. My biggest fear is that when we go back to the hotel for "naps" and that we would not be allowed back in b/c the park would be crowded and they would close and not let anyone else in. I would be devasted.

You all seemed to have ease my mind some...:thanks:

This year will be our 3rd time going over July 4th week. If you go early you will get a lot done. We have done everything we set out to do. We will be there June 27 - July 7. Can't wait!!!!

Two of our best summer vacations were during the week of July 4th - once at Disney and once at Universal. What made them the best is that we were pleasantly surprised at the low crowds at these parks during the peak vacation week. I simply concluded that a lot of people avoided DW and US during the week of the 4th because they believed that EVERYONE else would be there. When I booked our trip two years ago to POR during the 4th, I had conditioned myself to being in long lines and in big crowds the whole time. It simply did not happen. We rarely had to use the fast passes at DW and only twice at US during our July 4th trips. Now, just hope that EVERYONE STILL believes that the parks will be absolutely packed to the gills, so you and yours can have one of the best vacations ever!

We went in July 2005. Magic Kingdom on the 4th. SOOOOO CROWDED!!!! Sounds like it was a lot less crowded for the 4th in 2006 from what the previous posters have said. I know my husband and I and all four kids vowed never to do it July 4th week again. We waited in line at EVERY ride. I mean, even the ones people don't ride a lot. We fastpassed all we could, but became very frustrated. It was sweltering hot, but may have been a hotter than normal summer. I know how the heat can get sometimes, I used to live in Florida...but this was HOT!

Hopefully, for you, it is as described by the other posters when you go.:)

We were at WDW on from June 27-July 3 2006 and had a blast. The crowds picked up later in the day, but in the AM we did not have to wait in any lines longer than 10 minutes. We will be there July1-10 this year I hope we have just as good of luck.

We will be there, too! We have been the week of the 4th twice before. It is crowded, and HOT, but it's still Disney!:cheer2:
