4th Night Free Released!!

I plugged in my dates (just for the heck of it, we got a great deal already booked) for the GCH, and it said there were no rooms available! Yikes! It did show the deal for DLH and PP though.

Oh, decisions, decisions...

We have 3 nights, 4 day parkhopper, package at the Carousel booked already. Looked and saw that they have those days plus one (nights and extra parkhopper day) at Paradise Pier for less than $300 more. Plus the $25 change fee.

But no breakfast. Then again, that's easily solved with a delivery from vons.com.

A little further away at the PP than at the Carousel, but really, that's OK.

Better pool at the PP, but will DS ever leave the pool once he sees it? :)

Extra EE day (can't beat that). Wait, what days are EE days? Check in on a Monday, check out on a Friday...how many EE days does that cover, and can you use EE on the day you check OUT (if still have 5 day parkhopper, could use the EE "on" that for that day?)

Already decided on the Lilo and Stitch character b'fast, and this would of course make that even easier. :)

Forgot to mention that we already planned to add another day, though we were thinking more along the lines of HoJo, but then, that would be a hassle to switch hotels and I'm sure the whole thing would cost more than we expect, while just changing it to 4 nights at one hotel would be easier...

Decisions, decisions...

We have a 4 night package at the Anaheim Camelot in August but I don't see anything on the DL site about a 4th night free. Where do you all see that???

EE is Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri. So if you check in on Monday and check out on Friday, you would get EE on Tue & Thu. (unless, perhaps, you tried checking in at 6AM on Monday). However, if you check in on Sunday and check out on Thursday, you would get 3 EEs: Mon, Tue & Thur.

bumbershoot....

I was told by WDT agent that if you are increasing the price of your package that they do not charge the $25 change fee.

Of course, that answer could always change!

KSD Tink,

I *think* the promo is only for dates in the fall. I am not sure the exact start of the dates.

I like the logic of the theory of no fee if increasing what you're paying them. :)

Oh we'd switch days like that, but Sunday my HS reunion will still be going on up in San Jose, so that doesn't work. :(

Does anyone here know the *AP upgrade value* of a Costco-package 5 day parkhopper? How far it "takes you", money-wise, to an AP, I mean? How about a 4-day?

This is so silly. I've actually already changed this package before, only a week after I made it. Started off at PP, actually, back in the days when I thought the dining plan was like what I'd heard of the WDW dining plan. Within a week I found out it wasn't, realized there would be NO way we could eat enough to make it worth the money, found out that PP is a little further away than Carousel, and changed all of those things. (the guy was very sweet and waived the change fee, so I figure, karmically, I'm due for a change fee, LOL) And now here I am, something like 76 days away, and I'm changing partially back. :)

I don't think there is a PH discount through Costco - so my assumption is that you would get the $189 or so that they typically run. I am not speaking from experience....I do believe though that the Costco "advantage" is the free character breakfast and the gift card - with no actual discount on the hotel and PH.

Thank you! That sounds right. I can't keep it all straight in my head. :)

I am not seeing anything on WDT site either. I plugged in several dates in the Fall and am just seeing the regular rack rate.

I have a 4-night package booked with AAA for the DLH in October (12-16). When I plug those dates in the website, I don't see any availability at DLH other than concierge, which isn't part of the promotion. Does this mean that I can't get the promo rate by paying $25 or does it just mean that they can't take new reservations at the promo rate for those dates? I guess I'll need to decide whether to cancel the reservation ($100) and rebook with getawaytoday, which would give me the GC std for the same price. We currently have resort view at DLH. I like DLH because it's great for my kids (4, 4, and 7), but I'm tempted to try GC too, especially if the price is the same. I'll call AAA in the morning, but I get better info from this forum and I want to hear what others have been told.

Oh yes, I can't change the dates because our air is already booked (separately).

Dizme,

I am in the exact same boat as you. Doesn't look like AAA is offering the 4th night free for that time period at that hotel. They did try to sell me conceirge at PP??? No thanks!!!!!

Now DH and I are thinking of doing getaway today and staying at the GC. We will decide tonight and see if it is still available.

I wasn't sure about the pools between DLH and GC. Any advice on which is better?

Please post back and let us know what you find out about your pkg.

I only had a Hotel-only reservation at GCH for 12/12 thru 12/17. I called Disney Travel about 4th night free and it was available for my dates but the latest you can check out is 12/16. So I called Central Reservations and had them only keep the night of 12/16 checking out the 17th and tie it to my package.

It does matter if there's availability for your dates. You can find out by calling Disney Travel or check getawaytoday.com. I have no idea about AAA packages but let me know how that goes.

My package total for 4 nights in the GCH with a Downtown Disney view, 4 Adult 4-Day Park Hoppers, and Alamo car rental (for an under 25 driver) came out to $2,171.00

Misskitty, I'll let you know what I find out. I see availability on those dates through getawaytoday but not through Disney Travel (which is used by AAA and Costco). So...if they don't have the 4th night free thing for our dates, we too must decide today whether to just go with what we have ($1875 for 4 nights DLH pool view, 4-day park hoppers for 2 adults and 3 kids) or cancel and book through getawaytoday.com. They only offer standard view, but show availability at all DR hotels. Their price for DLH std 4 nights + park hoppers = $1585; GCH = $1815. So, we could still save $200 at DLH even with the $100 penalty from cancelling AAA but we wouldn't have the resort/pool view room. We could pay slightly more than what we paid for the pool/resort room at DLH and get the GC. Decisions, decisions!!

nerdboyrockstar, that sounds like a good price! With air, our package as presently booked (Chico to Santa Ana) came to $2730 but doesn't include a car rental. We take the super shuttle which is another $100 for all of us round trip.

Forgot to say that the AAA website showed 4th night free availability for PPH, but the price was $1650 or something, which is only $200 less than our package at DLH. This makes me think that even if they have the 4th night free at DLH, the price would be higher than what we're paying now.

I checked my dec dates and they came up with the 4th night free. But getawaytoday is $200+ cheaper...guess I'll be going with them again. Same reason as last year. FYI-getawaytoday does room only with 4th night free.

I spoke with a AAA rep and she said that there was nothing available at this time at DLH for our dates. It seems kind of weird in a way, since we already have the room booked, that they couldn't just give us the discount. She told me to check back since cancellations occur. However, she warned me that the rate is not the same as the one we presently have, so the cost may not save us anything even if we do get the 4th night free. It's so confusing that I'm thinking of giving getawaytoday our money instead, but I'm worried about booking one without cancelling the other or cancelling one before booking the other! UGH.

I didn't realize, though, that you could book room only through getawaytoday. Do you have to call them to do that?

well we already booked ours last weekend but I called to see if we could get that deal, she said we would have to stay dec. 12 to the 16 to get it,so during the week but my man has to work so no fourth night free for us! maybe next year...
