4th generation ipod cameras not working

DD has a 4th generation ipod. The front and back cameras stopped working. Is there anyway to fix it without breaking the bank or having to buy a new one. The camera are not broken or cracked it just doesnt work the shutter stays closed

You can check Youtube for a video to see if someone else has had that same issue and fixed it. You can pretty much find videos on how to fix anything there
My dd's 4th generation ipod stopped working and I checked the apple site to see about getting it repaired and they have a general price list based on the model, so you can see how much it would be to get it fixed through them. I just ended up getting her a new one because the repair was more than I wanted to pay.

I'll check you tube. Dd is wanting a newer one but I told her she needs to wait. The iPod she got was free when I bought her Ortho braces so I told her she needs to keep it until it dies lol! Dh accidentally dropped it and the screen shattered but he fixed it thanks to a you tube video .

Be aware that if you buy a new one, the cheapest ipod 5th gen (16 gb I think) does NOT have a back camera, only a front-facing one. My DD and we had the warranty through Target, so they sent her a check for the original purchase price, and she bought the 5th gen since it was only a little more than what she got in the check. But it has been very distressing for her not to have the rear-facing camera, to the point that she wants to buy another new one, which we will not let her do.

Thanks for that info. I just told dd and she says it does have the back camera. Shes looking it up now. Oh she would have been so mad if she boiught one and it didnt have both cameras. I told her she can buy a new one with her money but I'm not buying her a new one-lol!

oh we looked it up she wants the 32gb ipod and it does have the back camera. I'm hoping to figure out why her camera arent working. Dh thinks it might be because she has to update but she doesnt want to because she doesnt want the Ios7

The Ipod upgrade was not for iOS7 it is a minor fix for FaceTime. I haven't noticed any changes.
