Location, location, and location. Until the Dream, there were no A,B, or C cabins on the Magic or Wonder....they were all 4s (or 11s, or whatever). But DCL realized that they could get some people to pay a bit more by promising them a specific location.
Look at the deck plans on dreams unlimited. You can use the color chart on the side to see the location differences. They could literally be right next to each other.
4A's are in the middle closer to the mid-ship elevators. 4Bs are further to the bow and stern. 4cs are even further, and I *think* only have solid white wall verandahs.
