..............

Good question- in LM II she is human and Mermaid.... she could go back and forth! She is my favorite.... wish she was at the breakfast!

I think having her walk around in her human form with the pink dress would be great at EPCOT. At the MK it would not work as Ariel would be in her Grotto at the same time and that might cause confusion for kids. We ate with Ariel in March at Disney's California Adventure Park. She was wheeled in on a big rock and the kids formed a line to see her. It was a large lobby and not that many kids were there at the time. Ariel spent a lot of time with my daughter (who was in her Ariel dress and very ecited) .We had a problem there as Ariel autographed a Little Mermaid book she had and gave it to my 3 year old. She was so thrilled and kept telling everyone Ariel gave her a book. Later the manager, a 22 year old on a power trip, came over and demanded the book back, saying it belonged to the restuarant. We explained that Ariel had autographed it with my daughter's name and that she would hurt a 3 year old's feelings by taking it away. We offered to pay for the book. But she was very hard and continually asked for the book back. We decided not to make a big scene and let her have it while our daughter was dancing with Pluto and Goofy. By that time Ariel had left or she could have explained, maybe. My daughter was ok when we explained why "Ariel" needed the book back, so at least that worked out. Sorry to vent, but that was one of my few non-magical Disney moments.

I can't believe that happened to you! Certainly they could have let you have it - especially after you offered to pay for it. I mean, even if Ariel was remiss in doing it, once it's done, it's done. My DD would be just crushed by that. I think you should really send that story to someone in management if only to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Sounds like they need some sensitivity training over on the west coast.

I totally agree, you should write to someone in management. I'm sure Disney has a TON of books to resupply that one. WHat good is it to anyone with your daughter's name in it? And it sure doesn't create any warm and fuzzy magical feelings. Shame on Disney!

That's a terrible story, my daughter would have been devastated.

To answer the other question, My dd wouldn't be interested in meeting Arial walking around, to her, Arial is a mermaid and so she would only want to know if she was on the rock.

VanessaH, what a terrible story!!
Definitely sounded like a power trip to me. I'm glad your daughter was not too upset, though. I hate to hear about things like that happening anywhere, especially at Disney!

I think Ariel would feel like a fish out of water if she went to breakfast with all those 2-legged Princesses!
(I crack me up:p )
