40th Birthday... Live it up or...

Mine is in February...I would love to do something but as of now I don't have anything planned.

Mine is next May, I want to go wine tasting with a boat load of friends and have a limo for the whole day. :) if I could swing it I'd get all my friends a hotel room at a place we love in Napa and we'd do a whole weekend thing, but my bday is on a Wednesday next year so..........actually, that might be a lot of fun to do.......lol

OP maybe he's got a surprise planned for you already, if not plan something for yourself. Do what you want to do, after all it is your bday. :)

My DH promised me he wouldn't throw me a party because I don't want one. My parents will be down visiting over my birthday and they're taking all of us out to dinner. We have reservations at Tokyo Dining in Epcot or we might just go out around here, I haven't decided yet. It's just another birthday to me, no big deal :)

live it down, like any other day. Mine is fast approaching, I just realized it's 2 weeks away. :scared1:

My best friend told me she hopes I won't be disappointed if my husband hasn't planned anything big. Now I think I might *want* something big. What's up with that?

What did you all do for your 40th? Wild and crazy? Or, mild and lazy?

I turned 40yrs old this past September. It was both mild and lazy yet wild and crazy. I love celebrating my birthday with my family, and I was actually looking forward to my birthday weekend. My dh usually prepares a special dinner, we enjoy a movie, my dd bakes my favorite pan of brownies, and my boys - well, they just usually take advantage of the good food and movie. BUT, then the night before my birthday, my dh states, "Tonight I love a woman who is in her thirties, and tomorrow I will love a woman who is 40". :scared1::scared1: (He has such a way with words, I know - honestly, he was trying to speak words of endearment).... I enjoyed the weekend anyways. We celebrated my birthday in between a weekend full of soccer games, and I decided that being a 40yr old soccer mom wasn't so bad.

My 40th is in Feb over President's weekend. We are going to celebrate it then with the family - probably just go out to dinner... BUT in March DH and I are going on the DREAM just the two of for a 3 day cruise!

Since we re both teachers, it's the only time we can both get away. (and it will be 2nd time we've ever been away without the kids ever!) We are taking them on the Dream in August, so we are thinking of this as a preview - we had to make sure everything was ok, right? :rolleyes1

My husband took me to WDW. My mom watched the kids and it was just him and I.

My birthday is in November so we got to do the Food and Wine festival and we spent my birthday watching my favorite team the Steelers romp the Packers at the ESPN club. Loved it.

I'd rather cheer the Steelers onto victory at the ESPN club than have dinner at any restaurant. It was a perfect birthday.! :thumbsup2

I am hoping to spend my 40th bday next year at Disney world. My bday will be in october and I have been wanting to visit for MNSSP. My bestfriend turns 40 in may and she too wants to come. So, since I have a timeshare week available, I plan to book a 2 bedroom resort and invite our closest friends. I already told DH and he says I can celebrate where ever I want:)

Enjoy your birthdayparty:

I just love reading all these stories. And, thanks for all the early birthday wishes. :)

Sooo.... I just went on my hubby's email to look for something. I swear I wasn't snooping!! And, I saw an email from my bff. Now, they never, I mean never email or talk on the phone. So, this is interesting. I didn't open it, of course. But, maybe something is brewing. I think I'm a little excited.
