40th Birthday ideas

We will be at wdw the first week of June. We go to WDW at least once a year. I am looking for ideas to help celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Please share thoughts and ideas that will help me and the kids make her 40th special.

Can you give us an idea of her interests? There are so many different offerings at WDW from special tours, fireworks cruises, spas, signature restaurants, etc. It's hard to suggest something without knowing a little bit about your wife.

I agree with the pp. If I was going to do something I may look at get a reservation for V&A. I have heard it is a meal that is unforgettable.

The massage at GF is awesome according to my wife. When she turned 40 we had a black cake. Don't... Do.... That.

How about an Illuminations Fireworks cruise? You could decorate the pontoon boat w/ balloons & have dessert onboard. That's what I'd pick for our anniversary if I could ever get my DH to take me to Disney for our anniversary, ugh.

What's your budget? DH and I were in WDW on his 40th birthday, but we didn't do anything above and beyond a normal trip. The whole thing was special since it was adults-only. We had dinner at R&C during Illuminations and that was special, but the DR time frame for that sort of thing has passed. I'd check out the Disney florist site for cake, balloon, floral, etc. delivery if that would be up her alley. I also agree with the PP that a massage would be an awesome treat.

I agree with your recommendation. Took my wife on the illuminations Fireworks cruise last year and it was her favorite part of the trip. Totally worth the money in my opinion.

we have never done a fireworks cruise. that is a good idea. we will have both kids so Victoria and Alberts is out. We are both school teachers and get out of school the week before. i am truly looking forward just to relaxing in the world.

Definitely love the fireworks cruise idea. We did one for my son's 12th birthday and it was great:

We did Narcoosee's for my 40th birthday. Always a great choice.

A dinner show would also be fun. Love the Hoop Dee Doo!

I spent my 40th bday in WDW a few years ago...also in the first week of June One of my favorite parts of the trip was our first experience at California Grill. The food was so good and it brought tears to my eyes watching Wishes from up on the "deck" up there.
We stayed at Beach Club and spent many afternoons by the pool. It was a treat not to be rushing around! And just sitting around, feet up, with a fruity umbrella drink in hand!

I'm planning my husbands 40th for April! We are staying at the Poly. While I can't tell you here what I'm doing (because he is on this site) I can tell you what he did for my 40th in Disney in November!! On the airplane he surprised me with a video of clips of all our family and friends wishing me a happy birthday! He gave me an awesome "airport bag" full of Disney surprises. He had ordered a.bottle of champagne and a cake that was in our room at beach club when we arrived. It had a white chocolate Snow White on it. Then we went to dinner at California grill! It was an amazing day!!

Are you staying on Site and the kids are under 12 years odl? There are Childcare centers in several of the Deluxe resorts along with in room babysitting. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/child-care-services/ for the information. It may be a way where yo ucan get something like V and A or California Grill Dinner without the stress of the kids.

Have dinner at the Califorina Grill (outstanding). You are then allowed to come back up the elevator and watch MK fireworks from the observation deck. It was sensational!!! What a view. They pipe in the music from MK, so it is perfect. Good luck!
