We are taking a family trip with 3 DS (10, 8, 5) to celebrate DH and my turning 40!! We'll be there 10/1-10/10. Looking for ideas for a nice restaurant (atmosphere..food, etc) to celebrate. My DS's like steak, italian, etc.

Any thoughts, suggestions?? Thanks!!

The most special place and only 5* is Victoria & Alberts. Better for a couples dinner though. Calif Grill might be a good choice. Upscale food and if you time it right a view of Illuminations.Jiko or oma are great and you can walk around AKL. The castle is always a special spot to eat. I know this is heresy but you might want to check out Emerils at the Citywalk in Universal. You could walk around after dinner. Good Luck with your choice. Happy Early Birthday. ps the menus to the different WDW restaurants are on allears.net

O'Hana's is a very FUN family place with great food. Great place for birthday celebrations. The boys should enjoy it! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY ('64 was a great year, wasn't it:tongue: !!!) You can watch the fireworks at MK from there if you time your PS right!

(Although we haven't tried them yet), for Italian, I've heard great things about Palio's at the Swan for Italian, also heard that Delfino's at the Portifino Bay (Universal) is good & Portobello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney. We did try Alfredo's in Epcot which was good but everything was very rich (even though we split). For steaks, I've heard Shula's at the Dolphin can't be beat; others have had great experiences at Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. My husband had a great filet at Jiko's; I had a great golden bass dish - we really enjoyed our dining experience there; also enjoyed the Flying Fish - Boardwalk & Artist's Point - WL

I would recommend either Cindy's castle or O'Hanas. We ate at Cinderellas Castle in Dec. and just loved it. We had never ate there for dinner before and it was great. We are planning on eating there again on our next trip.

Hello!
Just my $.02. Citricos in the Grand Floridian is my absolute favorite Disney restaurant. We celebrated my mom's 50th b-day there, and everything was perfect. It is sort of fancy, but with a laid back mediterranean flair. Every time I've been there, there have been loads of kids dining, and enjoying themselves. Get a table by the window to enjoy fireworks during dessert!

Have fun!

Wow!....Megara79, Ron from Michigan, mouseRD, jwfla422 and TwingleMum....Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm glad I have a bit over a month until my 90-day point for making PS's so I will definitely check out the menus at allears.net....and then maybe we'll just have a birthday dinner every night!! DS's would love watching fireworks during dessert.

jwfla422...'64 was a great year...Happy 10th Anniversary to you!!
