Anybody heard what will happen for the 40th anniversary? We'll be there May of 2011 and would like to see new parades etc!! Any info or links would be appreciated.

As this really isn't DVC related, I'm going to move this to Rumors and News.

All I can say is I hope they get rid of the Celebrate theme! It is getting old now, even more so since GAD is over and they aren't doing the birthday thingy.

Wow, how time passes when you aren't watching. I guess it IS time for something new and fantabulous.....new parades, fireworks....should be something really GREAT.

Please, please.....NOT the pink cake again! :sad2:

I liked the pink cake...but then again I was like 11. But thinking back it was fun. Though it is a been there done that thing for disney.

I liked the overall theming for a year of a million dreams....celebrate never really interested me....

Wishes defiantly needs replacing....loved the summer nightastic show (saw it opening night and in july).

Oh no....I LOVE wishes. Mine is a personal reason. Years ago I got my wish made the very first time I saw wishes. A year later I was able to bring my friend (in remission with Multiple Myeloma) to WDW for a week of magic. We watched Wishes exactly one year after making my wish. Crying as I type this. It was a week full of Disney magic and memories I will cherish forever.

Ok, I have the CD. If Wishes goes away, I will still have my memories.

Have you ever stopped to look around after the lights come up following Wishes. If not....try it. I am sure I have seen a couple of these magical Wishes moments come true for people. It makes me happy the Pixie Dust worked for them. It did for Joan and I that week.

Awesome story..... It is the greatest gift when a wish comes true. And what a way to celebrate life.

Honestly, I loooooooooooooved the Year of a million dream, there was just something about thinking the Dream Team was around the corner, and that yes the odds might be one in a million, but maybe, just maybe you would be picked to stay in Cinderellas castle or get that dream fast pass or that Magical upgrade.

I loved that too. Of course, my family didn't get any extra things, but it was wonderful to know it was possible. Hopefully they'll do that again.

i go that special fastpass 2 days in a row at different parks. it was awesome.

How about Disney agree to celebrate their 40th by not raising ticket prices for the year, bring back real entertainment and somehow hide that eyesore of a work area you see from the monorail between the Grand Flo and Magic Kingdom.

Don't forget a good deep cleaning of resorts and parks. THAT would be something to celebrate!

Wow, I remember being there for the 25th birthday. I can't believe time has flown by that quick!!! I'm with PP that I bet they will do something for 50. Something big like they did for the 25th.

The website Stitch Kingdom has reported Disney trademarking "Let the Memories begin" of course both the site and I have theorized that "Memories" is going to be next years theme, the prove more evidence the next day I saw an ad for the Vacation Planning DVD that said something like "Want to make Memories, just push play." could that mean a new DVD along with a new adventising campain, park decorations, and hopefully an new castle show and parade.

I've heard from a trusted source that they will definitely be having a new parade for the 40th. Not sure exactly what else they will do to celebrate it, but I know that there is a parade planned.
