40lbs less and first 1/2 marathon in a year

Hello everyone, I posted this on the main boards for WISH but thought I should maybe move it here. So I can update it for myself and if others care to comment whaterve I would love that.

I apparently singed up for the bored years ago but my life has been crazy the past few years, with college movings around the country among other things but I'm glad I've found the boards again and even happier I found the W.I.S.H area!

I've grown up in a house where eating out is a 4 times or more week thing and junk food is all that can be found, I was lunch when living on my own I kind of got it under control and lost wight but after losing my job and having to move back to my folks house I've gained the weight back. But with the new year I've decided on new goals aside from still trying to find a good job I'm also going to focus on eating better again and I want to do the cost to cost Disney 1/2 marathon challenge in 2011. I decided all this and then found your guys here. I hope to meet a lot of you so we can help each other reach our goals together (its always better when you have people to work and celebrate with right!).

So I really hope to kind of figure out how everything is working here and meet lots of people!

My names Liz I'm a seasonal cast member at Disney World, I'm good friends with Pluto and Eeyore and its my favorite thing to do in the world! Also my biest hobbi is making costumes for myself and others for cons and just to have and dress up! I hope to make a runnig outfit that looks like Pluto in a way for the 1/2 marathon!

PS I'm not a runner never have been but I want to be, so anyone whos been running and have good tips on trining other then running weights and things that help in the long run I'd really love the help (I was looking at somelinks on her before as well! ) thanks!

LOVED your journal title - and I'm in a similar position. Hoping for my first half to be the 2011 Princess and for it to be a fun "couples" weekend with a few friends and their spouses. And hoping to be anywhere from 30 -40 pounds lighter when I do it...:rolleyes1
Keep journalling. It's just as motivational for the rest of us as it is for you.

We should deff keep intouch and help eachother work on our goal! Its alwsy good to do it with friends!
 
so, I've figured out one of my bigest problems is times I get to eat. Because I work threw dinner I tend to eat breakfest and then go off to work where I have enough time to grab a snack and then wait till its super late for a real mean and by then I'm so hungry I'm eating everything in sight!

I've been using this great App on my Iphone that was free and counts calories for you and add up exorcize, I've found it easy to use and helpful, and most days I'm keeping with in the 1200cals it lets me have but then some days I blow it out of the water. I Know 1200 isn't a lot it was the option to lose 2lbs a week, there was an option to eat mroe and lost less. Anyway I've been doing ok with staying in but I really feel I could be doing better if I could manage times I eat better so that is my goal for this week, to plan out meals and find times to eat things better.

On the movement front however I've been doing nicely, I don't hit the gym everyday but I've been finding other fun things to do in between gym days like yesterday I spent an hour ice skating at the local rink. Which is a very good work out and nice to change up the work out making me want to do it more. I also plan to use the pool at my college and sometimes I jpg/walk with one of the bogs around the neighborhood.

So before I started the blog i lost 5lbs, then last week I seem to have lost another lbs, which I would have liked to lose a little more this week but I'm happy I didn't gain the first 5 back.
 

Good luck with your goals! I'm thinking of starting my own wish journal, but I'm a little nervous about it. I'm sort of a runner, but not a good one. I've been in lots of 5K races, but want to do a 10, and then a half.

haha good luk with your goals! I'm singing up for the disney 1/2 for next Jan this week I'm very excited! You should think about doing it i hope to meet more people on here doing it so I can have people to do it with by then!
 
So I was at disney all this week, I was working for 5 days which means i got a lot of exorcize but it also meant that I was staying on people floors and sofas and didn't get to eat as well as I have been lately and its funny how different I feel when I go back to eating just what I can when I can rather then nice planed meals that are balanced and not so fatty. I just feel sluggish and my system feels off. So now that I'm home I've back to eating less calories and healthy and the goal of this week is to get back on track! Also to get back to running with the goal of running and not just to get on and off set while avoiding cheerleaders! (it was cheer weekend this week at disney they where EVERYWHERE! lol)
 
This past week as been hard..

I got Wii bigest loser which I really like and gives you a really good workout I set it right now for a 4 week goal as I have my CP audition now is a little less then 4 weeks and would like to lose some weight for that, the game me a 9pound goal for by then, I'll take it its better then nothing!


But this week was hard, well mabey not the week but the weekend, it was a lot of clebrations, B-day partys and group cleibrations which makes it super hard to find things to eat that are healty. For example yesterday we went to unos and they have the calories on the menue for everything which I is good but then makes it so hard, I ended up getting the item I found with the least cals which was a veggie wrap whith steamed veggies on the side as well which was really good but I wish they had more choices most of there meals where more then the calries I should have a day if I hope to lose weight. it was crazy!

SO this weekend was kind of bad and I need to let my weight setal and get back to my workout plans and food plan and back on track and hope for the best.
