40% discount questions

We are staying at CSR from 10/30 - 11/4 (room only with AAA discount). I read a post where someone said that there was a 40% general discount last year for these dates. Does anyone know if that discount was for room only or a package? I was just wondering IF that was offered again this year would I be able to make it a package with dining, or would I have to keep it a room only ressie to get the discount. Thanks!

The 40% discounts have always been personal PIN-codes for as far as I know. The only general code that beat the 40% discount I've seen last year was the buy4get3free for bookings for early 2009 (which was prolonged later in 2009).

Talking about the 40% personal PIN code; the 40% is off of the rack room rate. You could use such a PIN for both a room only or a package, however it is only 40% off of the room rate. As allways (besides the AP-rates), you'ld have to have at least a one day MYW-ticket for all in your party to be able to add the dining. For a PIN-code that's no different.

By the way; I did get a 40% PIN-code for certain dates in 2009. Your traveldates were not included. The closest would be a timeframe ending on 10/30 and the next starting somewhere mid november.

PS: just had a quick look, can't find any general 40% discount at mousesavers either. (they keep a nice track of all of the discounts -pincodes excluded- offered by WDW over the years.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that the discount is only on the room portion of the ressie, not the park admission or the dining. I was just wondering if it was "room only" exclusive. Here is what the poster said about last years discount (it was posted on the October 2009 codes thread):

We were at WDW Oct 31 - Nov 5 last year and at that time there was a general public 40% discount. We're going again this Oct and hoping for the same.

I tried to ask when that discount was released, but I didn't get a response.

You're welcome! You can check out http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#2008 to see which discounts were out for 2008. When you search for those check in dates, there were a couple of discounts offered. However, I've never seen a 40% general discount. And I was looking pretty close back than. We went in early december 2008 and was hoping to be able to deduct anything from codes for earlier dates. If any general 40% discount was out, I would reckon I would've seen it and be hoping very deeply they'ld also offer it for a couple of more weeks until our dates would come around.

This year, disney seems to be hurting if we look at the promos they've had before the current free dining one. Fingers crossed that they'll have a like wise promo for your dates!
