Just back from our June 20-23rd Disney trip. We were on the DDP for 3 days so we paid OOP for one meal.
1. Ohana's-dinner
2. 1900 Park Fare-breakfast
3. San Angel Inn-dinner
4. Chef Mickey's-breakfast
1. Ohana's-we loved it!
We were the first family in the restaurant at 5:00pm. Our waitress was great.
The food was sooo good-my husband couldn't stop eating and my picky 9 year old ate a lot too! The bread was soft and slightly sweet and the salad dressing was so delicious. We liked the dumplings more than the wings. The meats were delicious-my favorite was the steak and huge shrimp. We were celebrating our anniversary, my son's birthday and our daughter's preschool graduation, so our waitress brought out 4 huge cupcakes in addition to the yummy bread pudding dessert. My daughter (5) enjoyed the kids' entertainment, and we never felt rushed. This was our favorite meal.
2. 1900 Park Fare-good breakast buffet
When we checked in, the hostess asked my kids if they would like to participate in the "Grand Opening". My son said the magic word and announced that Mary Poppins was opening the dining room. Then Mary Poppins took my daughter by the hand and escorted us to our table. The kids got autographed placemats and we had more celebratory cupcakes!
The buffet was good, there was an omelet station, the service great and the characters (Pooh, Tigger, MP, Alice and the Mad Hatter) were attentive.
3. San Angel Inn-this was our least favorite meal.
Nothing was bad at this restaurant, just not good enough to return to. They did have a different kids menu than I had seen posted. It had 3 choices-cheese quesadillas, beef tacos & chicken tenders. My kids had chicken tenders-nothing special although they did serve them with veggies and rice instead of fries. They got ice cream and a churo for dessert. My husband and I both had the sirloin tacos. They were good but luckily we asked for the sauce on the side-very spicy! For dessert we had white choc mousse with berries and bread pudding. The mouse was ok but the bread pudding was excellent. Service was slow at first but then picked up.
4. Chef Mickeys- my kids' favorite
Originally we couldn't get an ADR but at the last minute, a 9:15 popped up. They were very busy-we arrived early but didn't get called until 9:15. I liked
the food better than at 1900 Park Fare although there was not an omelet station here. The 5 characters came quickly (within 20 minutes) to our section and were very playful. We received more cupcakes and the characters danced around for the birthday celebrations occurring in the restaurant. The service was great and it was a great way to end of Dsiney vacation.
Overall, we enjoyed all of our table service meals but the best, by far, was Ohana's.
