After the photo session, we ran back to Biergarten and checked in.
I was hoping we would be seated quick since I knew there was a 1:15 Oktoberfest Musikanten show and didnt want to miss it.
Ive never been here before but I heard lots of good things about it.
I was telling the kids for months about the great hot dogs and sausages.
They were all pumped up as well.
My first reaction was surprise - I didnt realize the inside would be a German village similar to the interior of Mexico.
It was really cool and complete with a full moon in the sky.
My picture doesnt do it justice.
The kids were equally amused and took in all the details.
I explained that the banners hanging on the walls were from famous soccer (football) teams in Germany.
DD thought it looked like the dwarves house from Snow White.
Heres a video of her describing just that:
Lunch was a blast. We started with the great pretzel bread and steins of soda and lemonade.
The kids feasted on mac and cheese while Mom and I (and DD) downed different kinds of sausages, hot dogs, meats, potatoes and spaetzle.
I was surprised that DS wouldnt even try the mini hot dogs but DD and X had fun.
I had just managed to fill a plate for everyone and return when we were all told to raise our glasses for the tapping of the keg.
Ticky, Tacky, Ticky, Tacky, Oy, Oy, Oy!
And the show began.
Oktoberfest Musikanten is a fun band and the frontman has the greatest deep voice.
After some songs (including the infamous chicken dance), they changed it up a bit and brought out a table with lots of bells.
Each bell was basically a different note so the performer would quickly ring one and then move onto the next.
There were 2 tables with bells set up in different formations each formation corresponding to a different song.
It sounded great and it was amazing to see the performer move that fast.
The great big horns were next.
Not sure of what they are officially called but they make me think of the Riccola commercials.
Heres a video of them as well:
We were all enjoying the meal and entertainment so much, we took our time.
After lunch, I took each kid to pick their desserts.
DS loaded up on Bavarian cheesecake, vanilla pudding with sauce, and blackforest cake and couldnt believe I let him try all of it.
DD got the same but added fruit and apple strudel with vanilla sauce.
Mom had a bit of everything and I stuck to the black forest cake
Dessert was awesome. X had bits of everything (and left most of it on his face):
We were spending so much time eating, a second show started during dessert.
It was similar in its parts but the songs varied.
This time I videoed a different performer using the other table of bells to play Its a Small World.
I messed up and thought I recorded the whole thing but apparently just got the end and you can barely hear Its a small world after all.
We were so full and having a blast.
So much that when they asked for people to dance, DD gave me those eyes and I caved. Mom made sure to grab the camera:
And even videotaped us tearing up the dance floor
The band even gave us a hand afterwards since we were the only people dancing.
Hey, if you cant just go out and have fun in Disneyworld, then where can you do it?
On the way out, they handed us an envelope.
Inside was a giant gingerbread cookie and a birthday card for DD signed by all the CMs which is pretty funny.
Besides the names being great (check out Ulf and Hans) this is the first (and only) birthday card we have that is not signed by characters
All in all Biergarten was awesome.
We definitely plan to revisit here for lunch - a great all-around experience and lots of fun for all ages!
One last stop at the restrooms and it was time to head towards Fussen.
After all, we had a train to catch. Come along!
