4 Month Window?

I have heard that VGF has a 4 month booking window instead of 7 months like the other DVC resorts. Can anyone confirm this? If it is true, I assume it will stay that way?

I heard this from another DVC member who was within 6 months of a trip and tried to book VGF but was told he could not because the window opens up at 4 months for VGF.

Launch Period Booking Window

Due to this Resort's scheduled opening date, Disney Vacation Club has temporarily altered traditional booking windows to ensure that Members who call this Resort "home" will enjoy Home Resort Priority.

As Home Resort Priority reservations for The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will begin only 5 months before the Resort's scheduled October 23, 2013 opening date, Disney Vacation Club has temporarily altered traditional booking windows.

Members who own at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa may begin using their Home Resort vacation points to book stays at the Resort for check-in dates as far as 11 months out, as normal.

However, when reservations open to other Members beginning June 23, 2013, reservations with check-in dates ranging from October 23, 2013 through December 31, 2013 will be available in a 4-month booking window instead of the usual 7. Reservations with check-in dates beginning on or after January 1, 2014, will be available to be booked through the typical 7-month booking window starting June 23.

This temporary alteration of traditional booking windows is designed to provide Home Resort Priority during the grand opening of this new Resort.

The four month window is a transitional booking window during the first few months of sales of VGF. The four-month window applies to non-owners who want to book stays from the resort opening (October 23, 2013) through the end of this year (December 31, 2013).

For stays that will begin on January 1, 2014 or later, the normal 7-month booking window applies. In other words, beginning on June 23, 2013, non-owners will be able to book vacation stays that begin between January 1 to January 23, 2014.

However we will need to wait until June 23 until we can book a stay that begins October 23, 2013. Or until August 1 to book a stay that begins December 1, 2013, etc.
