4 Families at HRH, What do we need to do?

We have 4 families going down to Florida in November. We've booked at the HRH for three nights on the package deal where kids are free and free rental car (which we upgrade to premium). We booked a pool view, but that's it so far. Should we request a floor, or anything like that?

What do you think the chances are of all 4 families be in room near each other? Two of us are arriving in the morning, the other two late night. Do they have ajoining rooms?

We've done WDW together before, but this is our first time to Universal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

A week or so before you go, call the hotel and request rooms that are close together. You can also send a fax to the room controller.

Has anyone traveled in a large group before and gotten rooms together? Is there a floor we should request? We're really hoping to be near each other. We'll try calling and faxing. Should we do both?

Thank you.

Thank you.

We traveled with 9 people last October. I requested one connecting room, which was granted the other room was close by and just a short walk.

There's threads about the best rooms at the HRH. If you want to face the parks, the best room is 6090. The 1st digit is the floor, and the next 3 are the room number. Basically, if you want to see the parks, ask for a pool view on the east side of the hotel on the 6th floor. Here's a thread with pictures of the views.

Personally, the views don't mean that much to me. I'd rather be closer to the elevators, especially at the HRH, because they only have 1 set of elevators, and they're in the middle of the hotel.

Thank you for all the great advice :cheer2:. I agree and think being near the elevators may be a much better bet.

We were at the RPR in June with another family (our friends). I called and also faxed the hotel to request that we have connecting rooms, and told them that my 14 yo DD was also our friends' babysitter. I declined the upgrade (LoewsFirst Gold) because they weren't eligible for the same.

Checked in - rooms connected!! It was great!
