We rested for a couple hours in our spacious cool room at the YC (yay!) and then drove to the Poly for dinner. Our PS time was for 5:40. They seated us quickly and brought us some starters on a big rotating dish. Shrimp wontons, green beans (which were awesome and completely different from the soft, Southern way we make green beans!), salad, bbq wings, rice and some pineapple & coconut bread. WOW. This was awesome! (We had originally booked the Luau--what's with the "we" stuff--it was ME! Me, I tell ya!!! Anyway, when SS cancelled his plans to join us, I changed our plans from the Luau to just dinner at 'Ohana, since I thought SS was the main one who would enjoy the hula girls!)

Well then they brought out the meats on skewers that had been cooked on the big open fire pit which we could see from our table--turkey, steak, pork and shrimp-scrumptious!!!! There were 3 dipping sauces, peanut, a green one that had cilantro and ginger in it (my FAVE!), and a fruity one. The CM who took care of us was Michael and he was so nice and attentive and took extra special time to try to talk to DS5. In the middle of dinner, they had coconut races for the kids where they are given little brooms and they were supposed to "sweep" the coconuts to the finish line. The host of it said that if the kids were over 12, they had to use the handle end of their broom to do the sweeping...well DS5 misunderstood and was using his skinny handle end to sweep his coconut! It wasn't going anywhere! Poor little guy! He did not win the coconut race, but we got some cute pics and he was trying, anyway!

After dinner, we wondered around the Poly, and the gift shop and the pool some and and took some pictures,

then I sprung the big surprise on everyone: we're going on a Wishes cruise! No one knew about it but me! It was so cool! They were so excited and DH just kept asking, "So what happens? What's it like??" and I told him to just wait and see. We met our cruise master down at the dock around 8:10 or so and she was a nice young girl and I thought I missed her name, but apparently she never gave her name, cause DH didn't know it either! But she took us out on the pontoon and we had a nice tour of the resorts and some good stories and legends, etc. The kids were so excited! They had life jackets on, but DH and I did not. Good thing cruise lady didn't capsize us because I'm afraid DH would've been a goner. At 5 minutes til 9:00 she parked us right in front of MK so we could see Wishes! It was so awesome...there were other boats out doing the same thing we were, but they were never close enough to be intrusive or for us to feel crowded. We had a front row seat for the fireworks without having to fight the crowds! Loved it.

Then on the way back to the Poly, our nice little cruise gal let the kids take turns "driving" the pontoon, which they got a HUGE kick out of and we got some pictures of them,

AND we got to see an up close and personal view of the Electrical Light Parade on our way back! I love that thing!!!!! Makes me all misty-eyed just thinking about it.

We drove back to our hotel and fell into bed, happy and looking forward to our encounter with MGM the next morning. Next up: Star Wars fans are nuts, and I mean that in a good way. Really.

Sounds like a great evening. Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip.

Love your indepth trip report and the pictures are awesome - so clear! Anxious to hear #5! Keep up the good work!
