We got back Thursday evening. I haven't put together a trip report yet, but I will. I got tons of tips from this site. The photo matte, ice cream Mickey bars from room service and the secret outdoor decks on 7 and 8. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones the came off the top of my head.
We had a great trip with the exception of one mishap. The first night while watching the Steelers beat the Ravens in Diversions a glass of Coke broke into pieces while I was holding it. Coke, ice and glass went all over my lap. Not one person from staff member came over to me. I was soaked. I stood up and the Coke, glass and ice fell to floor. I walked over to a waiter on my way to change and handed him the broken glass and explained what had just happened. He said, "oh". I went the whole way back to my room, changed and then came back. It took me a good 30 minutes. I missed the entire 3rd quarter of the game. While I was gone, my Mother-In-Law asked 3 times to have the area cleaned up. When I returned, my seat was still covered in Coke and the floor in Coke and ice. I went and asked it to be cleaned so I could sit and enjoy the rest of the game. I asked for another Coke to replace the one the spilled on me after my glass cracked into pieces. I was brought the Coke and still was not given an apology or any recognition of the incident. After I left, my husband settled the tab. He was a little surprised to see I was charged for the Coke that went into my lap and the replacement Coke. I went to Customer service the following morning. I told the person behind the desk the whole story. He apologized and said he would look into it. He called me in my stateroom later that day. He apologized once again and said they reimbursed me for my Cokes. (It totaled $4.03) I was a little taken back at lack of regard for my safety, my soiled clothing and the interruption of the football game I was trying to enjoy. I don't understand how a glass can break into pieces while someone is holding it and no one responds to it.
So other than that incident. We had a great cruise. Even though the weather wasn't the best we enjoyed ourselves. Castaway Cay was a little windy and so was Nassua. The last day at sea was down right cold!
It was me (34), my husband (34), my son (7), my daughter (5) and my In-Laws (60 & 62). Let me know if you have any questions. It was our first Disney cruise. The food was good (not great), but we had no bad food. There was plenty of it. The staff (with the exception of Diversions) was fabulous. My daughter still wants us to call her "Princess".
A trip report to follow within the week.
