4-Day Pass: Which Parks?

We may go to WDW in late April. We only have 4-day pass. Which parks should we do?

We have been there b4 so there is nothing that is a must see.

MK and Epcot are a given. But wondering if we should do AK or DHS. You can always use another day at MK or Epcot.

With the DHS closings, would you still do it? Is so, what would be you plan of attack for DHS? Anything new happening at DHS that will available late April.

AK is always an early park day for us. With a short trip, wondering it that too should be skipped. Anything new happening at AK that will available late April.

DHS and AK become 3/4 or full park days only if you take in all the shows, parade etc, enjoy meals there... or experience some attractions multiple times (using RD, FP+ or visit during lower crowd periods). Clearly there is more to do and experience (if you do everything) as a full day park at MK and Epcot. All depends on what your party enjoys and wants to experience. You can make 4 days onto one park each, use park hopper to split park days or even avoid DHS or AK entirely. When our kids were younger we would have 4 day visits and skip AK, and visit DHS or even Epcot as 1/2 day as they got more out of 2 full MK days. We now use 6 day pass over 5 night stay, using 1/2 day on arrivals and departure as extra MK time.

I agree that it depends on what your party likes to do. For example Epcot is only a half day park for us.

If you enjoy animals trails and shows then I would say to definitely spend the day at AK. If you have certain favorites at DHS then you might choose that one instead. Or skip both and just go to MK.

I have a 4 day ticket plus 1 day water park for August 1-7. I have been many times, going with my sister and her granddaughter who is turning 9 while there. They have never been to Disney. We plan on going to MK on her birthday.

I always found the Studio was not always a long day like the other parks. With all the rides closing in the Studios, I am wondering if it is worth going to that park?

I say probably skip HS at that point, there'll probably be a lot closed with nothing new yet (maybe another day at MK or Epcot instead). As for AK it might have the new nighttime show by that time and otherwise glance at the attractions to decide.

If it were me, I'd do a day at each. If I chose not to do full days for some reason I'd hit Disney springs or hang at the resort, even if just a short trip.

My husband and I also have a 4 day pass for my trip (the military promotion ticket). Our favorite park is MK. Our trip is highly weighted in MK as a result. This is our breakdown. Day 1: MK all day Day 2: AK morning, DHS evening Day 3: Rest Day 4: Morning open for wherever we felt we haven't had enough time (likely DHS as we aren't huge AK fans), EPCOT evening Day 5: MK all day. We will frequently finish our night in an earlier closing park and then head to MK for late night since it is typically open later than all other parks. We are go go go and focus on getting the most out of the parks (getting there first thing and staying until they close). It is exhausting but we really feel like we get a lot out of our trips ! It is important that you know which parks you like and structure your trip to allow time there!

Since you've been before, I'd do your favorites. If I went without my kids, I'd do 2MK and 2 EP. However, one's favorite coaster is at AK even though there isn't much else they like there. We normally spend a day at DHS but spent longer our last trip due to one of the kids so I know we can't skip that. So with kids, we would probably start in AK and then hop over to DHS for the rest of the day. Then 1 EP and 1 MK. And then figure out if we wanted the last day to be MK or EP.

In your case, I'd do all four parks, one a day since they have never been. I'd also ask them what their preferences are.

Are they interested in Star Wars? Then they should do at least a half day at DHS for the new Star Tours and other things. If not, I would add a day at MK or Epcot.

We have 4 day passes (no hoppers) for this trip and after weighing the options are doing all 4 parks, one each day.

Epcot is our favorite park but without Soarin I think one day is fine. DD is 11 and an animal lover so AK is a must, MK is a given. Our DHS day is still up in the air. I don't think we need a full rope drop to close day. We are Star Wars fans and want to see the new SW's fireworks but we might use that day to sleep in or visit Disney Springs that morning and go to DHS later in the day.

Normally, I do 6 days without hoppers, which gives me 1 day in each park plus an extra each in MK and Epcot.

With just 4 park days, I think I'd definitely get hoppers so that I could either split a day with AK/DHS or at least give me the flexibility to get extra few hours at MK or Epcot - whichever is open later after I've been in a different park earlier. I don't consider any of the parks "half day" (I can definitely spend at least 9 hours in each, but I guess you could call that "half" compared to a day when MK is open 16 hours) and each has at least one thing in it that it's hard to imagine skipping entirely!

Who is "we"? Totally depends on your group, ages, etc.

For a family with kids under 10 I would definitely leave out AK. HS gets a bad rap for all the closures, but there is still a lot to do for my kids (8, 5, 2). AK we get bored and run out of stuff to do about lunchtime.

I'm torn between AK or DHS.

At AK, will the ROL be open? Possible AK would be 4/25. Also the the nighttime Safari, will that be open?

At DHS, what Star Wars attractions will be open then? 2 of 3 kids like Star Wars. Also, will the Star Fireworks still be going them. Thought I saw an end date on that.

Then, which park gets an extra day, MK or Epcot?
Epcot has the F&G going on then. Does that merit an extra day?

Most likely it would be MK. There so much then. Any closings then?

Thx.

Again, who is in your party? What age are your kids?

Since you mentioned 3 kids, and that they like star wars, I would lean towards going to DHS for the Launch Bay, Star Wars Fireworks, etc, all the characters, etc. But, if your kids are all 10+, and Rivers of Light is going then, I might switch and say AK.

If AK has Rivers of Light Open, I'd maybe consider AK .. but if not - DHS easily if your kids are Star Wars fans.
MK easily gets the extra day it has almost as many attractions as the other three parks combined. Epcot simply does not have enough attrations to warrant two full days in my opinion (maybe when it first opened and there was more to do in the pavilions themselves) ... (No Soarin and No Frozen yet in April probably).

Will “Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular” fireworks still going on in Late April?

Unfortunately they still have not yet released an exact opening date for ROL or Nighttime Safari. With this said, this may very well end up being a last minute decision for you based on whether or not these attractions are open by the time you go (keep an eye on The DIS and WDW announcements).. As far as DHS, if you have any Star Wars fans in your family then it may very well be worth it for a half day, Star Tours should remain open during the duration of the construction work, as well as the Star Wars Launch Bay (temporary attraction), however, as of now it does not appear that there are any scheduled showings of the Star Wars Symphony firework show in April (this could always change)..

As far as which park gets an extra day, I would say Epcot because of F&G.. Hope this helps!
