Does anyone know if just one of us upgrades to an AP Would it be worth it to get AP rates next trip on room? Also how far in advance can you get the room? We live :confused3 9 hours away and have to plan way in advance. How many days in one year do you need to spend in the parks to make an AP worth it for everyone? I know too many questions but I would sure like to save a buck or two somewhere. Thanks!

Well, the AP's start at $209, so you would be able to go 4 times at regular price to make it worth it. If you are going twice, I'd invest in at least one AP at $329. That way you would get discounts on merch, food and room.

Just based on monetary value, a 4 day hopper is $189 for adults, but a Deluxe AP is $209, so only a $20 difference. Soley based on that, it would make more sense to get an AP. But you have to look at blackout dates. If any part of your 2nd trip will have a blackout day, then a Deluxe AP probably wouldn't benefit you any. I say the 2nd trip because you can purchase a hopper, then upgrade on your last day, so blackout days wouldn't matter. A blockout ticket can be purchased but it's $30 each.

You can book a room at least a year out and get an AP discount of about 10%off regular rates. But the better rates don't come out until 1-2 months ahead of time. Once the reduced rates come out, you can have your existing reservation changed over if there is availability.
