We woke up at 6:00am on April 27th, ate some breakfast from the continental breakfast bar, got our stuff all set, and were on the rode to the Coronado Springs by 6:55.
We got there a little around 7:10 to check-in. Today was the Extra Magic Hour in the morning for MK so we needed our room keys (even though no one ever checked). Beautiful hotel! They said our room would be ready in the early afternoon. We decided to drive to the park to save time, and went through the MK ticket gates at 6:45 - just as the welcome show was starting.
This was the first time we had ever made it (as a family - I has seen it before), and my daughter liked it a lot. We walked right in as the gates opened and headed right for Dumbo - second ones in line!
The morning hour was great! We did Dumbo, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, the Tea Cups (only 7 were being used!), Indy Race Cars, Snow White, and Small World - which we got off at 9:10! Can't beat that for a start to the day!
We then headed over for the opening of Splash Mountain - her favorite. We got a fast pass for Big Thunder Mountain, and walked right on to Splash Mountain - which was great as usual. We then walked back to Liberty Square and did the Haunted Mansion, and the walked back to Big Thunder Mountain (got Woody and Jessie's autographs on the way back!)
We then hopped the train for Mickey's Toon Town fair, and rode the Barnstormer (first ride with a line). We then took the "shortcut" to Space Mountain and got a fast pass. We got a strawberry smoothy and relaxed a little, then rode the TTA. We then got a fast pass for Buzz, and rode Space Mountain. This was her first time on it - and it was the hit of the trip! She absolutely loved it.
We were pretty hungry now - it was a little after 12:00, so we walked up to Pinnochio's Village Hause. The new menu didn't seem to do it for us today, so we went back to Cosmic Rays for some Burgers and Hot Dogs (sat outside). After that we went on Buzz and headed back to CSR. It was probably high 80's at this point.
I called the number the CSR front desk person gave me to check on our room - which was ready - and we were able to go right to it and go in - which was great. We were in the 9B Cabanas - which were nice.
We got on our swimsuits and spend the next 2 hours at the big pool - which my daughter loved!
We got back, freshened up, and headed back to the MK about 5:30 for our first dinner reservation at the Liberty Tree Tavern!
Got back into the MK - and got Gov. Ratcliff's autograph - got a fast pass for Space Mountain, and the checked in at the Liberty Tavern. The meal was great, and we got Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto to sign the book. Very exciting and a lot of fun!
We went to the Country Bear Jamboree, got a fast-pass for BTMRR, and then headed to Space Mountain. After that, we rode the TTA again, and then did Stitch. We went back to Fantasyland and walked right into Philharmagic as it was starting. We picked up a Minne-girl stuffed animal and headed over and rode BTMRR. We decided to leave as Spectromagic was starting in Frontierland. We walked all the way to Tomorrowland and exited the park just as the parade was coming down Main St.
Got back to the room and crashed - great day! Tomorrow is Expedition Everest!
