We are a group of 10 heading down to Disney in December. We are looking for a 4+ bedroom house with its own private pool. I am curious of some of the main neighborhoods/areas I should be looking. Also, I noticed most pools connected to the houses in some areas (like Windsor Hills) are wide open to the neighbors. I have several people going that want more privacy in their pool. Any suggestions for neighborhoods where you might have a little more space or even just bushes between would be great! Any websites you would recommend other than VRBO for looking, especially websites directly related to any of the particular areas you recommend would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any info! Planning for this group is driving me nuts so I am happy for any help I can get!

Have a look at IPG Florida Vacation Homes

Areas to look at are from Hwy 192 A.K. end to Hwy 27 AND up to Reunion & Champions Gate

Private pools are usually NOT in Closed gardens . They are enclosed by screens but you do sometimes

see your next door guests

There are lots and lots of homes out there... The best thing is to contact the owner, and just ask them if there is privacy fencing, or ask for pictures of the areas that you are most concerned with...

I do this all the time, and for the most part, they are like Thanks for asking, and I should add this to the information, and drop a picture in...

Good Luck with planning for a large group... If you don't mind me throwing in my 2 cent... I have found that when renting a house, everyone thinks that everyone else is going to do the chores ( vacation brain), such as washing a load of towels, or taking out the trash, cleaning up the kitchen, who starts the coffee.. and so on...
We had a big get together before everything shut down... and I made list and asked everyone before hand what they wanted to do, so that there were no surprise and everyone was helping which made things so much easier... We could clean up the kitchen, and put everything in order... Since we like to get up earlier, I would always start the coffee, empty the dishwasher from the night before, and fold any towels that were in the dryer... and one couple are night owls... they would always, make sure all the trash was out, start the dishwasher, and one final picking up of the common areas... move everything over to the dryer..Only one more thing I promise... I have this fold-able box, it probably like 10 x 10 and maybe 3 or 4 inches tall... that I always take when we travel.. I put it on the counter, and we used it as a lost and found... say someone found a cord, eye drops, or a pair of sunglasses, car keys whatever... DH and I use it as a catch all in the hotel room so that nothing gets lost... I picked this tip up here, someone else suggested it, and it has worked great...

Have a wonderful trip...

We have stayed in houses in Emerald Island, off of 192, but it’s been about 10 years since our last stay there.

It was our offsite “go to” before we switched to using eBay to book Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

Thanks for the info everyone. Will definitely check out those areas and specifically Emerald Island and IPG Florida Vacation Homes.

LovesTimone I appreciate the suggestion. I have already made it clear that there will be a responsibilities chart and schedule for our trip. The lost and found box sounds like a good idea for a central location to just drop things off and make certain things don't disappear.

I am partial to the West Haven neighborhood but then that is where I bought our snowbird home. The lots in a few of the West Haven sub divisions are a bit wider and many have privacy hedges planted. There are so many neighborhoods it is hard to assess them all. The newer neighborhoods seem to have minimal separation between the homes. While it might be a bit time consuming, spending time on Google Maps satellite view might help identify areas with more privacy.

I have a 4 bedroom home and would recommend focusing on 5+ bedrooms. While there are a few large 4BR homes, most would be very tight for two people. Moving up to 5 or more bedrooms might get you a second "social" area on the second floor giving more space for groups to spread out.

There are quite a few small property management companies in the area. Many of them are focused on international travelers. For a few years before I retired we used a company called Dream Villa Management who was one of a few mentioned by the realtor who helped us find our home. I have no connection to them and haven't had contact in over 5 years when we took our home off the rental market.

Good luck in your search!

We have stayed in Indian Creek twice. It’s not far from Animal Kingdom and both houses were 5 bedroom with private pools. They actually both had the same layout. We would stay in that area again with a large group.
