DC wants to stay @ Poly or similar for birthday. YIKES on the price.

Not sure if anyone knows of any slight discount - or a site with fees less than WDW. Thanks.

Don't know when you're going, but they are doing lots of construction at the Poly. The main pool is supposed to be closed for awhile, if that matters. The closing date has not been set yet as far as I know. Last I heard was August.

There is a travel agency called magical vacations travel that sells discounted rooms at the gf, poly , bc and yc. They have an excellent end of August rate. We booked with them and paid 3500 for 7 nights with tix for 4 at the gf.

Orbitz has rooms at the Poly for less than that.

I checked the weekend of 7/25-7/28/14. Using the code DISCOVER, garden view rooms at the Poly are coming up for $353, including tax. GF garden view are coming up for $398/night. If you were to go through ebates, you would get an additonal 2% back as well.

Free cancellation until 5 nights prior to arrival if you find a better deal elsewhere. The only catch is that you would need to pay the full amount at the time of booking. Disney would only make you pay for 1 night as your deposit.

Check the Discounts and Codes subforum on the Resorts forum here on the DISBoards.

Google.

Look for WDW advertising on television and in newspaper travel sections.

Check travel websites.

Visit the actual Disney World website and look for "specials".

Contact a Disney Travel Specialist such as the aforementioned Small World Vacations, or Dreams Unlimitrd (DIS sponsor).

Don't think that because someone else spent seven nights that's the only way to get a discount.

Do realize that even discounted, the Polynesian is expensive.
