not getting excited yet but anxious to find out our cabin assignment.
We are cruising with our 6 year old grandson.
Bill
I am also VERY interested to find out our cabin assignment. Should it be soon? My other two cruises (2000 & 2004) I knew nothing, did not think to research, and probably missed a lot of great opportunities. Anyway, I am eager to have that little piece of info.
What fun to be cruising with your Grandson! It is our dds first cruise also however they are pretty young so we will have to rely on scrapbooks to keep the memories alive![]()
I think it will be about the 3 week mark when we find out, but I check anyway
just to satisfy my curiousity.
Taking my grandson to the Pirate museum in Nassau and back to the ship for the Ratatouille cooking class. I have any energy left I may go to Ardastra Gardens after that.
Any plans for Nassau?
Bill
Oh my oldest dd would love anything to do with cooking but I'm sure she is too young. I am not familiar with the cooking class - see those are the things I seem to miss.
Actually, the only plans we have for Nassau is to stay on board although my dh would like to take the oldest one off to walk around. If I have anything to say about it my family will stay on board. There are too many fun things for them to do on the ship and they are just too young to get much out of any excursions. Of course we will enjoy CC!
I will try to use some self control and not keep checking for the room assignment. I am praying we get something that is close to stuff and quiet (I guess that is what everyone prays for)
Unfortunately the cooking class is only for 5 - 7 year olds.
I found out about it by reading some of the Disney Navigators from February.

My daughter also bought my grandson some pins to trade while on the cruise. He traded pins when we went to Disney World last June and he loved it.
You are right though. There is plenty to do on the ship and I'm sure you and your family will have a blast.
Hope you get a great upgrade. I'm hoping for at least a cat 10 but as long as I have a bed and shower I'm good.
I hope my grandson can stay awake for the fireworks. He goes and goes and then just hits the wall and he's asleep in seconds.
Oh I hope they still have Krispy Kreme doughtnuts on the ship.
Bill
Thanks for the link! I have seen Navigators in some Trip Reports but that one was easy to view. Everyday my dd wants me to tell her more about the cruise. This way I can share more with her.
The pin trading sounds neat. My dds would be thrilled with one - I'll have to remember to buy one before our trip ends.
Doughnuts good! Krispy Kreme - very good!!!
I see you are from Philly - that is where we are from and will be traveling to the week after our cruise. (Hope the weather warms up for us)
Suzy
Yes we are from the Northeast Philly but we will be flying from Dulles airport in Washington DC. My grandson lives in Maryland so we have to go down and pick him up first.
My wife is losing her job after next week but she found a new one so she has no time to take off for any extra days.
We have to scoot right back.
Bill
Glad to hear your wife found a new job so quickly. That will help to make the cruise more enjoyable, I imagine.
I did not word my last post correctly. We live in FL but grew up in Bucks County where all of our family is located. We will be traveling up to PA the week after the cruise - not my favorite drive.
OK Gotcha. I want to live in FL and hate the drive to FL from here. At 52 I just don't have it in me anymore. I used to drive it every year when the kids were little.
I used to live in West Bristol, Croydon, and Morrisville. Somehow I wound up back in Philly.
You wanna switch and live back here and we'll move to FL?

Actually, the class is offered for the next age group up also. The 5-7 yo class is at 12:15 and the 8-12 (?) class is at 3:15. Ask me how I know. LOL Of course I have a daughter five and one eight and they BOTH want to do the class. So there goes the day.Actually, I think the 8yo would like the animation class that is at 12:45.
Our plan is to get off in Nassau, walk the kids through the air conditioned "straw market" and go back to the ship for a quick bite and to let the girls do the classes and the 2 yo down for a nap. When the classes are done, we're going back to Nassau for the Pirate Museum and then it will be time to get ready for dinner.
I have been checking our cabin assignment CONSTANTLY. It's all I can obsess about. I think I need an intervention. I just KNEW today it would be there. But not yet. I hope I don't have to wait much longer.![]()
I bet they'd let your 8yr. old do the cooking class with the 5-7yrs. olds if everyone was in to that. You Nassau plans sound great and busy
I'd love to hear any of your plans with your 2 year old for the cruise. Did you reserve time at Flounder's Nursery? How do you think your 2yr old will handle the change in routine and late nights? We reserved babysitting from 8-11pm each night. I hope it all works out
I love to hear that someone else might need an intervention. I really thought today would be the day also for room numbers. I found my luggage tag from last cruise (2003) and was excited to look up the room number to see what catagory stateroom it was. I know we probably booked a 12 and got a 9 which was really nice. At the time we didn't know any better to look things up or possibly that function didn't exsist at the time. We were shocked when we opened the door and had this big 'ole window.
Suzy
What a great surprise that must have been! I really am not expecting an upgrade. I just want to know the room number. It's killing me. I have checked eight times today already. LOL
I am probably not going to use the Flounders nursery. I'm sure it's lovely, but I don't want to pay for it. Besides, we have grandparents coming...and they're FREE! Our plan for him is to try to keep him as much on routine as possible. When we board, we're getting lunch and at 1:30 one of us is taking him to the room for a nap while the rest of the group runs around the ship. We got an early dining (hopefully) which is right on their schedule. My dad is NOT a nightowl, so he will probably take him back to the cabin at night around 9:30 for bed. We're going to try to get the baby to stay up for pirate night, but I'm not going to make him miserable. And if the 5yo wants to go to bed early, so be it. I'm not going to try to make them miserable.
My DH and I cruise once a year, but this is the first time we're taking the kids. We really don't care about having adult time. This is our family vacation, so we want to spend it as a family. If it was a week-long cruise, we'd probably be more interested in the kids clubs.
How old are your kids, Suzy? I've got an 8yo girl, 5yo girl, and 22 mo boy.
Okay, I am a MAJOR lurker on this site and have been for years. I very rarely post, but I had to today just to admit, I will be joining you in the intervention. When are we going to get our room numbers?????? The suspense is killing me!![]()
