Barb, I'm so sorry. Maybe I should have sent them faster mail, dunno? PLEASE let me know when they come. The packages might be a few days apart since they were mailed seperately.

Again, I'm sorry!

Hi, Im new to the message board. My family and I are first time cruisers. We have had our cruise booked since july. Im excited to meet others that will be on the same cruise.
Ive seen a picture of the braclet, and would be very interested in purchasing 4 if you have any left. pixiedust:

Welcome ulittletinker! Glad to have you here! The more, the merrier!

CG -found a really cool website that translates morse code for you! You just cut and paste or type it in, hit translate and it tells you what it means!

http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html

amd it does say "THE QUEEN JUST LOVES THE PIE."

The longitude/latitude given (26° 5'N, 77° 32'W) is Castaway Cay - see google earth for pics. The first one is for NYC and the one for March 10 (I've read) is for Alaska. Sitka, by what I've been able to find.

relax - they'll get there. They just have to pass through the NSA, DPW (Dubai Ports World), State, TSA, FSO, UN, and the white house prior to their arrival. No big deal. :thumbsup2 Each band will have an American Flag stamped onto it once it gets there to ensure quality control after they have been produced in Hong Kong. :rotfl: (I'm funnier in my head tonight than I am on paper, hunh? )

Suzie, you actually think I want to work for this secret Disney stuff - nah, I will continue to sit back and let everyone else translate for me.

OK - TT everyone. (that's tah tah, not Tom T.)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm excited to have found 4/29ers I did not know this site existed. I some how stumbled on to it. I keeped looking on the passporter message board, hoping to find a fun group party: . Guess what? I found ya.

Ive been married for 22 wonderful years. two daughters, Danie 9, Emmy 5, and a yorkie dog name Tigger, we reside in Oregon.

I have been reading anything and everything about the cruise. We have decied to skip the excursion on this trip. Since the girls are young they will have more fun swimming, and as for me I like to shop. Sometimes spontainous is the best.

We will be leaving April 26 on a red eye arriving in Orlando thurs. 27. We will be staying at the Nickhotel for two nights on this trip. The girls are big fans of Spongebob, Dora, Jimmy Nutron.

I was reading on the passporter message, people decorate their stateroom doors. So this weekend the girls and I will be scrapbooking a couple of pages w/out the photos. I will post the pages by sunday

I will need 1 lg, 1med,2small braclet. let me know cost and were to send money.

Welcome Ulittletink
:welcome: :jumping1: party:

I see you have a DD 5, I'm sure you have read through many post here , but she will have lots of company . Your 9 year old will also have a great bunch to hang with.

Well back to bed for me , it's still a bit too early in the morning.

Welcome ulittletinker  :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

This is a great bunch of people here. It is very addictive though. What part of the country are you from? I assume you are from the States? There are lots of kids on this thread the same age as yours. Mine are older, but they have contacted some of the others and they email back and forth now. They will already be friends before they even meet on the cruise.

The continuing saga of the Novaks:

Ben has been walking around everywhere with his medal. They are the only ones to bring home a silver medal for this region. The games end tomorrow, so we'll see how some of the other sports do. I've got to figure out how to post a picture. My family came out this weekend to help us put up some walls to make bedrooms in the basement. Hopefully we can get the kids into actual bedrooms soon. I don't know what I would do without family :grouphug:

I'd better get back to work before they come looking for me! I'm suppose to be making lunch right now!! :rolleyes1

Barb

Ulittle- WELCOME!!!!!!! As you will surely see this group is full of energy and all have a lot to say, on just about any topic. I too have a 9 year old daughter!

Barb- How wonderful for Ben , you must have just been bursting with pride, that is awesome!!! :cool1: I cannot even imagine doing the kind of renovations it sounds like you guys are doing. We redid our family room and that project almost put me over the edge!!

Well, there are days when you are just glad to be alive. Today is such a day. Went to my friend's house to get my haircut (haven't done that since October last year! YIKES!) and on the way home, we took 95. Traffic was getting bad (about noon time), so it was bumper to bumper and slow going

DSCN3258.jpg

That traffic line went on for miles!! 10-25 mph was the speed depending on where you were!

Just about a mile after I took that picture (I couldn't tell you why I did, guess I was bored) I heard tires squealing and noticed a smoke stream coming up from the right side access road. Then another darker smoke cloud. Cars came to a full stop. Then I could see. A flatbed trailer hauling large mulch bags had run 1 car off the road and spun another around. That must have been the tire squeal that I heard (gorgeous day, windows were down), tire rubber burning (first smoke stream) as he skidded then hit the jersey wall that seperates the access road from main 95. When he hit the jersey wall, he partially jackknifed and spilled his load of mulch (second brown cloud) and unfortunately landed on a car that was two up on the left from us. The guy in the tractor trailer next to us immediately got on his CB and called for emergency assistance. We already had our cell phones out calling. We passed by some of the people and asked if they were okay. Ed pulled over to the shoulder and I got out to ask the driver if he was okay. He was sitting on the ground shaking like a leaf but on his cellphone. He said he was okay but not sure about the car that had spun around. Couldn't get to it on the other side of the jersey wall, so just confirmed with 911 that most of the vehicles were okay but not able to contact the other car. People were pulling off to help people out of the cars (I think they were just so shaken) and to try to offer any kind of assistance until help arrived. I so totally forgot the camera in my hand! Camera in one hand, cell phone in the other...go figure! Anyway, got back in the car and continued on our way. Even though the access road drivers were at a much greater speed than our snails pace, they seemed to be fine other than vehicle damage. I'm still amazed that the driver of the car on 95 wasn't injured with all those huge bags landing on his car! Thank God for that traffic jam! If he'd been going faster, there's no telling what could have happened!!!

So, remember to be positive in all things - even traffic jams! You never know what God is saving you from!!!

Wow , it was 60 dregress here today !!! I just snapped a couple pictures of the girls and Dad playing softball . now this is more like it :)

Wasn't it nice today???? Totally awesome to be in the throws of Spring. I washed the cars, took two walks, and basically hated being inside for any amount of time.

ohso - gotta ask - is that a moose in your pool area?

It was beautiful here today also.

Besides all the great things we already know about the DIS and particularly this group I realized another great thing.... it gives us another forum to tell others about our kids achievements, in other words BRAG about them!!! So here is mine. Today was the Swim League Championship meet. You have to have a USA Swimming qualifying time(s) to get entered in the meet. Meghan finished in the top 8 in both her prelim events this morning and qualified for the finals tonight! We were sooooo proud of her, she was heart broken last year when she didn't qualify. BUT thats not the end of the story......At finals tonight she finished FIRST in the 25 FREE event. I of course started to cry I was so proud of her. She also finished 5th in the Butterfly event.

Good Morning! MKetting- that is fantastic!!!! That is a huge accomplishment! What a great feeling.

We had a beautiful Saturday-woke up this morning to some rain...which would just figure since I spend $15 to have my car washed yesterday! I think it will be fine if I don't drive it until it dries! I am not great at keeping my car clean inside or out because the company always used to either pay me to get it cleaned(I was always entertaining customers) or I'd just get a new one :rotfl2: This has been a challenge for me as I have never paid for a car! The really great car news....and it will probably come back to bite us, Pat's POS Saab is paid off on Tuesday! We've never "owned" a car before. I'd always get sick of his cars before we paid them off! Auto Industry Mentality...We are going to have a party, but I guarantee that payment will get sucked up into life so fast we won't know where it went.....

Our PITA neighbor was at it again yesterday. She's the one I wanted to RANT about the last time. Didn't feel it was necessary, because she is worthy of a rant about every day! She's the 7Yo who makes my life a living h e double hockeysticks :lmao: She shows up(which is her MO) and asks if Hannah can play. We live on the corner so people are always just stopping by. We were all outside, working in the yard. That is not a problem, until we find out that her mom is working, and her dad said she can come out to play as long as she plays at someone elses house and she can stay until 4:30..... :furious: It wasn't even 10am at this point!!!!! :furious:

So they play. Katie's little friend Anvi came over too, which is always nice, very well mannered little girl. But this time she brings her 15 month old sister too-NO PARENTS IN SIGHT!!!! AND this 15 month old was sucking on a piece of hard candy!!!!! Her parents are both freaking doctors......what are they thinking. So I had Hannah walk her home everytime the little one wandered over here. They live 3 houses away. Ok- but she's not the problem. Lizzy is..... and back to her.

She whispers to Hannah to get things out of the garage that Hannah knows are not allowed. She whispers for Hannah to "ask your mom if...." and she doesn't realize that I can hear it. She goes to the bathroom inside and stays for several minutes, until Pat finds her fuffling around under the sink in the bathroom.....We prepped Hannah for situations like this early in the day knowing she'd pop by and make life miserabel for all of us. But they play well together overall. Anyway- she asks if she can eat lunch over because her dad's not home. Meanwhile I can see him working in the yard from ours. Fine- well, I made shhhh soy corndogs from Trader Joes. My kids don'tknow the difference, she takes 1 bite and doesn't eat anything. My kids and Anvi brought their plates into the kitchen when they were done, she leaves hers on the table outside.....

THEN-she goes home to put shorts on and comes back with a "camp hideaway" tshirt on. Hannah asks if she can go to "camp hideaway" this summer and Lizzy pipes up "It's VERY expensive"......SO I lost it.....I said- and I know this isn't the right thing to say but I felt like slapping her and that is frowed upon in our neighborhood......"Hannah can go to any camp she wants, the price doesn't matter to us, but we have so many vacations planned this summer that she doesn't have time for camp!" And back to cleaning the grill I went......Made me feel better, shut the little beyatch up and on we went.... Until it was time to clean up the yard.

They had scooters, chalk, jeep, you know the works scattered all over the yard and Pat wanted it cleaned up. So-he announces that everyone needs to help clean up the yard. Anvi and Katie started cleaning like good little soldiers, Hannah starts cleaning but Liz just sits in the garage. Pat says in his nicest voice, If people don't help clean up the mess, then they cannot come back to our house to play....What does the little beyatch do, hop on her scooter and leave. Hannah was sooo upset, not sure if it was becasue she was left with the mess, or that her friend left. At any rate-it was a rough day. Then Pat took Hannah for a bike ride around the neighborhood to talk about this toxic friendship, stressing that she has a ton of friends(she really does) and never does this problem come up with any of her other friends.....We have tried to break this friendship off on several occasions. We were friends with the parents, but the last time I tried to break the friendship off was over the cruise in 04 and feelings were hurt!!! We we went a good year without talking, but they are so stupid, they just don't get it and continue to creep into our lives. It isn't worth bringing up to the parents becaus the girl is such a little sneak her parents don't ever hear the real story. And-they are the kind of parents who do not take this type of infomation constructively. We've been there before, they will just say "Well Hannah is no angel either".....And we say- We understand that, but we also work with her everytime she makes a mistake to make sure she understands and learns a lesson from it. And-we would want to know if she was at your house and making a mess and not cleaning it up. Well, that led to the dad calling us every day "Hannah looked at Liz cross eyed on the bus". Hannah said this to Liz.....blah blah blah. There is a difference to me between being kids with each other, and blatantly ignoring the rules..... HEre I go again.

Alright, enough. For a good laugh, I will someday post the entire transcript of the royal rumble on the yahoo site. It was over IM, which I didn't start.... Anyway-have a great day-Thank GOD it is raining today so we won't have to see her...

PJ

We used to have a neighbor like that. They even left their lawn furniture in our front yard because "there is more for the kids to do here anyway". They would use our doorstep as a bench most of the day. Turns out just before we moved, they mentioned something about property lines. They had been told that our doorstep was on their property. You see her Mom & Dad bought them the house so they didn't have to go through a bank. If you go through a bank for a mortgage, they demand a survey report. I quickly made a copy of our survey report for them. Very strange situation. Very small towns and no way to get away from it.

We have moved over 20 times and I can tell you a story about almost everywhere we have lived (I won't though :rotfl2: ). In The Pas, we had a basement apartment where the previous tenant was a big party animal I guess. People would walk up to the livingroom window (which was on ground level) and knock to get in (the side window opened). As the snow melted, I could see a path across the grass to the window. Here I am 6 months pregnant with a 1 year old, and all these old drunkards are knocking on my window. We only lived there about 4 months, so it wasn't too bad. Advantages to moving a lot I guess.

This weekend we got the bathroom almost done and one bedroom is ready to be sanded and painted. Of course I thought I had paint and I don't have enough of one colour, so I'll have to wait until the stores open tomorrow. My dad is 74 and I can't keep up to him when he gets working. At this rate, we'll have a bathroom and 2 bedrooms by the end of the weekend! Just my husband, my dad, my mom & me doing the work. I had to just check in here though to see how things were going.

mketting congrats on the swimming! Doesn't it just make your heart feel like it's going to burst!! :cheer2:  :cool1: :thumbsup2

I am lauging bc my novel that I posted is just one isolated event in a sea of events with these neighbors.....I apologize it was so long, I get on a roll and can't stop my fingers from typing... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Jen- Just reading about your situation has made my blood pressure rise. Some parents are just plain idiots. This year at the beginning of swimmimg, it was maybe Jared's second practice ever. He came out of the Locker Room and said another boy had pushed him against a locker. Knowing my son as I do I asked him to tell me the whole story. Well after talking to him and a few others the full story came out. Jared had been being mouthy to this other boy. However, the other boy was 12, Jared is 6.
At the next practice i talked to the mom, I took full resposibilty for Jared's part in the situation and said he need to apologise. Her response was " Yes Jared was really bugging him" At no time did she ever come close to saying my 12 year old should not have pushed your 6 year old.
It took everything in me not to say " It doesn't matter what Jared was doing, your 12 year old shoud not have touched my little 6 year old"!!! I had Jared apologise anyways but it was not easy to do after that conversation.
