WAY TO GO BEN!!!!!!!!

That just must have been such a great moment for you! I dream, as do all Moms, that some day my children excell at what they love!!!! That is just so awesome for Ben!!! We missed you too!

I've been hearing some rumblings about doing a second order of bracelets. If you want to order more, please let CG or me know. It's not a big deal, we just need to get the info.

rubysmom- I think Tom wants to trade mediums for your smalls. Might want to PM him or Julie.

Just had to let you all know what horrible weather we are having here. It was 71 when I took Tori to school this morning and it's now 76! We have some really high winds, but oh, how nice it is! It's a chore but someone has to have the weather...sigh...opened all the windows in the house and love the clean spring air coming in! Feels like we're blowing Old Man Winter right out of here!

FYI - Target has this really cool bubble "gun" that you just screw the bubble mixture to it and pull the trigger. No mess, no fuss. AND it's only $3.99!!! Yea, I bought one for Tori for the Sail-Away party! We used other bubbles last time but they got a little drippy and I didn't want anyone to fall and hurt themselves, so looked for another alternative.

I bought some stuff for Tori's suprise basket. I decided last cruise that it was just too much money and hassle to have someone else do a cruise basket waiting in the cabin. Tori had no idea last time other than it was a cool gift for the cruise. I bought her a new princess nightie, nail polish, chapstick, small pool toys, and a Nerf football to throw around with daddy. I'll buy some books and coloring books too to put in. Costs under $30 and I know she will like it! Oh, and I put in all in a really cute Princess beach bag just her size.

Still trying to work on my door sign. I am just really clueless this year. Hopefully I get a Disney Muse soon so that I can scratch that off my list. Big sigh.....

Ben

Congratulations

:cheer2: :yay: :jumping1:

Must be such a proud moment for you Barb . i can't wait till my girls are into sports , they are just too young right now ..

Cobysmom , Barry was also a soccer star , he still makes the Plattsburg state Newspaper for all his acomplishments .
All of his neices and newphews are into soccer , including his brothers still . He wanted to find a league near us but has had no luck so far . He did play for one season but it was a 40 minute drive for him. i think McKenna will be his little soccer player , she loves kicking the ball around with Daddy and you can already tell she is such a Tomboy!

Suzie - I was just about to pick up the phone and call you. Got your message - AOK - no problem ordering more. It's very fast and easy to do. No fuss no muss. So sign up now for more fun with CG's record keeping - should be a blast!!!!! :lmao:

Nicki - this one's for you, Tom and Barry

HI THERE!!! - I know it's the wrong hair color but it was the best I could do on short notice. You have to give me more warning when you are going to be gracing us with your presence!!!

WARNING: LONG!!!!

Barb-Congratulations to Ben!!! I have goosebumps! Can't wait to see pictures, and he is soo young. You must be very proud!! I cry when Katie scores a goal in pee wee soccer...so you can imagine what kind of condition I would be in!

Stop the press...newsflash....I went to Wal Mart today. It is kind of like therapy, if I just go there, I might like it....Well I didn't BUT I did come home with some clothes for Hannah. They don't have anything with adjustable waists there so I don't know. what is going to happen when she tries them all on. I just was trying to "try" to save money for once in my life....

But here is the good news about my trip to Wal Mart-I picked up the sunscreen for our trip. We got really used to the Continuous Spray sunscreen last year, you go thru way more of it(we have already had this conversation I think....dejavu) but it is such a sinch to put on, especially on the islands, where you don't want greasy hands walking the streets of St. Thomas.....BUT it only came up to 36spf. Well, today I found Kids Banana Boat 50 in continuous spray. This is great for my fair ladies for the first few days in the hot tropical sun! Then we have 45(Bullfrog) and 30 for the other days. Suzie- they also have Disney Princess Sunscreen there-I have never used NO-AD brand(my derm says it's fine as long as it has the right ingredients) that might be cute in the basket for her.

On to the QOTD-First, Mkettings, I do have strange dreams about things like that, nothing on the cruise yet, but I do have dreams we are on vacation but I have such trouble getting there that I only have like 1 day left before it is time to leave, then I spend the rest of the dream trying to figure out what happened to the time...

I met HGP in High School. It was in 11th grade, he was in 12th, it was 1988!
He saw me at a party-remembers vividly what I was wearing(and my hair which believe me girls in 1988 was nothing any of us would want to remember). We didn't even have friends in common, he was a LAX player and I was on the tennis team so we hung out with totally different people. Somehow, I got word that he liked me(remember this is high school so if it sounds very juvenile....remember yourself when you were 15!) but I had no interest in him. Don't know why....but I always was attracted to guys for stupid reasons.... He will tell you it was because he was from the wrong side of the tracks!(Which was a joke).. Ohso you might know where Radisson is? I lived there and he lived on the other side of B-ville. Back then, for some people it was a huge deal to live in Radisson....still can't figure that one out.

Holy cow I better wrap this up or I will be writing into tonight. Needless to say, he called one afternoon while I was out playing tennis. He was happy I wasn't home, because if I called him back, he knew I must be at least a little interested. He invited me to a party. He came to pick me up with his friend Pat and for the longest time my parents didn't know which Pat I was dating until one day my sister said..."Oh my god she is dating the one who had the really red face"...cause he was SOOO nervous. We had a blast, and were inseparable from that point on. And as some of you know, not only is he the most hysterical person I have ever met, he is so caring and thoughtful. A Great dad and husband all around! And you don't usually hear that from a High school sweetheart story. AND- we have both grown together in the same direction which is also something you don't hear alot anymore!

Alright- so from there, we dated for what seemed like an eternity. Both went to Nazareth College of Rochester(NY), and graduated. After graduation, my timer was set....tic tic tic tic tic...ok, when is it going to be. I knew we were going to get married, he wanted to surprise me.....After 6 years, that would be difficult.

We were engaged for 6 months(please, my dress was already picked out....) I just made the call and poof- all the arrangements were taken care of! Get this- since I started dating him when I was 15, that means I have been with Pat for more than half my life....It realy is an amazing thing to think about. I'll be 34 this summer....we've been together for 18....ish...I needed a calculator for that but we met in 88, married in 95 and it is 2006 so to me that calculates to 18 years....WOW. And each year has been better than the last....

We are celebrating Kate's 5th, Pat's 35th, our 11th anniversary and our very special friendship with Mike and Patty(Mike was HGP's best friend since they were babies!)

Wow I am weepy today. I just relived a really awesome memory from my past....thanks for listening!!

Kate is better today, FYI!
PJ

I was weepy writing mine too. I then got teary again reading yours - how awesome!!!

So how many high school sweethearts do we have on this cruise???? - it's a really fair majority of you guys. Holy Cow!

By the way, I use Baby Blanket Sun Blankies - they are towels that have the sunscreen in them and you wipe them on the kids - they work soooo well on my son - especially the face area that always causes weeping and gnashing of the teeth in our household. They are hard to find, though - I am on a quest!!!!!

As the self proclaimed Queen of the Web-http://www.onestepahead.com/product/100183/756/117.html

I have to place an order there too for a bed protector...don't need accidents at night at GG's house, or on the cruise, especially if she falls asleep somewhere and doesn't go to the bathroom first...

PJ

OHHHHH- Down 3 lbs this week! It's finally moving...see I told you giving up wine was going to be my thing... Tonight is going to be a challenge for me but I have planned a really low key weekend for this reason exactly!

That is a great price! Thanks for finding it for me. Stupid that I hadn't checked there. I haunt Babies R Us around this time until they get it in. Hey, did you notice that they are selling the 4 packs for $9 something and each individual one sells for $1.95 - which is $7.80 for four :confused3 Somethin ain't adding up there.

Its a wicked expensive way to go as each blanket pretty much handles one day of sunscreen protection and that's about it - but to me it's soooo worth it for the ease of application.

For the baby I would use that too, the continuous spray aersol is pretty pricey since you don't use all of it(some just gets lost in the air) but try it for Quinn. It dries instantly and you aren't a mess as a result...
Nothin worse, as a fair skinned, blonde headed, blue eyed kid myself, than having sunscreen rubbed into your already hot skin...especially if there is sand involved! :rotfl2:

pirate: Well, we was sailin’ the high seas and had just pillaged a small village when I saw this buxomly wench with her skirt held high….

:surfweb: [raises an eyebrow]

pirate: AAARRGGG! Then you tell it! ... the Pirate trots off ....

Well….there is a country western song called “Get your Tongue out of my Mouth ‘cause I’m Kissing you Goodbye” (Really!) and Jon was talking about it and I laughed so hard that I snorted. I’d never believed in love at first sight, but there it was. I knew that day that I was going to marry him. We laughed and laughed and I have to say that we have never gone a single day without at least one good milk-snorting-out-of-your-nose belly-laugh.

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary on the cruise. We’ve been fans of Disney forever, we even had a Mickey and Minnie ice sculpture at our wedding reception. We are also celebrating his 50th. I need to come up with something creative for the big 5-oh. For his 40th birthday, I bought the Disneyland blueprints at an auction and had them hung in his office. (He works for The Mouse). How do I top that?

Hey CG – I didn’t realize you lived in Boston. We go to Harvard almost every year; I occasionally give some lectures there. (I’m not Harvard faculty; they have a summer program for average folk like me). They put us up at the Westin at Copley Plaza and we have become big fans of the Firefly restaurant across the plaza. We also like the band “That Band” that plays on top of the subway station across from the bookstore. Just this morning I was listening to their CD and bemoaning the fact that we won’t get there this summer.

Whoa, look at the time. And here endeth the longest post of the day.

The Roses

Sue - my husband and I pig out at Firefly ALOT!!!!! I have one here in Natick too. I can't really say I am from Boston - I am from the Berkshires which is the beaucolic western mountains of the state - but I now live about 40 miles out of the city. I now work about 8 miles out. But the time I spent working on Beacon Hill was about 4 years and it was AWESOME!!!! But, I have had enough of that. Fun to go in - not fun to live in for me. When I worked there I was renting a room with friends who lived in Watertown so I had to commute in through Harvard Square - at night I would get out and just walk around - I SOOO MISS THAT!

PJ - I went right after our little sidebar on sunscreens over to Babies R Us and they had it in for $1.49 a pack - so I picked up enough for the trip and some replacement wrap around sunglasses for Catrina. I have no idea what I did with her original pair :confused3 That little quest is now checked off my to do list - PHEW.

Speakin of Boston, Pat, if you are speaking to your co-worker, ask her if there is anything I can do for her. Does she need a respite break to go out to dinner - I can be a blind dinner date for her - you know, platonically  If things are that bad, I was just wondering if she needed anything or needed a friendly face around all these fast talkin' Yankees.

CG, thats so kind of you. She has lots of family in Boston. 5 sisters and brothers not to mention all the aunts, uncles and cousins. Her younger brother has cancer and they've brought in hospice, so things don't look good.

1) How did you meet your other half?
We met at Roberts Wesleyan College, which is not far from Nazareth where Jen went. Kirk says when he first met me I was too LOUD for him. :confused3 My sophmore year I was dating someone from home and Kirk was seeing a fellow student but we had a couple of classes together and we started spending a lot of time together as "FRIENDS". We would spend hours at night on the phone. When I think back to that now I wonder what in the world we could have been talking about. Well one thing led to another and we both broke off the other relationship and started seeing each other.

2) WHEN did you meet?

Here is the weird thing. We met in 1988 our freshman year, but even though I was from PA and he was from NY our parents had known each other for years.

Our fathers are both pastors in the same denomination. 15 years before Kirk and I met his Dad was the speaker at a youth camp that my dad was the director of. We have pictures of Kirk hanging onto my Dad's back in the pool, he called him Shamuu. Anyways back then my dad said to his dad, "You know, I have 2 daughters and you have 2 sons, maybe we could arrange something" 15 years later Kirk and I met at college.

3) How long did you date before getting married?
1 year

4) How long have you been married?
It will be 15 years this Summer
and final question - and I know there are some out there!!

5) Are we celebrating anything on our cruise?
It will be Jared's 7th Birthday on the night before the cruise and it will be Meg's 9th birthday on Sunday, on Monday my cousins daughter's 10th also it will be my cousins 40th Birthday on Thursday.
