congrat's on your bonus - I am so excited for you! I actually got a bonus this year and it came last week - a full month earlier than expected!

Paid off the credit card and now I plan to put some substantial money in our onboard account! No shocking bills at the end of the cruise!!

PJ - Thanks for the kind words concerning taking the kids out of school. I have not had a response yet from the music teacher because she was gone yesterday. Love the dress!

We did have some great news though! My DD came home and had an award for having an outstanding attitude and behavior. She was SOOO excited! She gets to go to a Breakfast of Champions tomorrow morning. This definitely helped ease her disappointment about the concert!

MKetting - Can't believe how obnoxious some teachers are - and this coming from a person who gets three months off a year! My sister told her DD's teachers that she would be taking her out for the cruise and while most were cool with it, one was really snotty. She told my sister "well, I hope she enjoys taking a ton of books with her on the cruise!"

I really don't understand this new attitude of teachers - what is the problem with sending a homework schedule that may be tougher than the work they are doing in the classroom that week - incorporate the destination of the child into the curriculum. My teachers always did this. I am getting a serious rant brewing on teachers lately. It's been building for a while now - since I worked in the legislature. In that job you see the very nasty side of teachers and the unions. Don't get me wrong, I truly feel teaching is God's work. It is a career worthy of medals and the same corporate bonuses we get here in corporate America and worthy of much higher pay.

OK. Now I will start a new post again since I went off on a tangent on this one - so apparently there is a photo - I'll have to wait until tonight.

We went to Holly's eye appointment this morning , good news here to , she is going down in power -.25 , not uh but still great news ! While I was there the assistant mentioned she is possibally going on a cruise . I told her about all of mine and she was excited so of coarse that got me overly excited again for ours . Anways when I was at the front desk getting ready to pay I sat down and started chatting with the nicest lady ever , we got to be silly , and chatting about everything and i told her all about cruises leaving from NJ , Boston and Philly because she doesn't fly , well I then poped up and said " What a great place this must be to work " , I said , hey any openings here ? She said "oh my God no, but you would be great for the downtown location since you are so happy and bubbly , o.k I have been called bubbly too much lately LOL . She called down there and they have someone startng in that position ut she may not work out . This would be great 8-4 weekdays !
Now I am still thinking I want this summer off thou , geezum i don't know !

Ohjulie & CG , we are paying off our credit cards too with DH bonus , isn't it super when you get those little extra checks ? I'm so glad since my stress level was way way too high over how the heck am I going to pay these darn things off .

Taking kids out of school--We've done this every year at least once. Now that our son is in 6th gr, it may be an issue, but he is a smarty pants and I think that helps. I haven't even talked to the teachers yet! I better do that and give them enough notice to round up whatever homework they're going to send!

PJ, that dress is so beautiful! The shawl is the perfect touch, along with the color. A little tiara would look great with it...what do you think?
We have a similar one in pink that I found at some weird kids' clothing store here...I say weird because I kind of wonder where the clothes come from--it took over our old Disneystore location and the prices are really low for the quality...I don't know, it just gives me a weird feeling.. anyway, Emma was in a pageant last Sept and we needed a dress. (BTW, I will never do a pageant again--and this one was fairly tame from what I understand, no makeup allowed, etc) We'll have to try the dress on again, hope it still fits.

Ohsodis--Congrats about that job offer! What a nice compliment to be offered it on the spot like that, whether you go for it or not! See if the other office has staff as nice as this one sounds.

About all this paying off of CC's, I'm gagging here! Just did the bills yesterday and being self employed we have taxes due in April (didn't estimate last year as it was our first year for both of us), estimated taxes due in April, and property taxes due in April. UGH! I'm in denial about April in general and just trying to get the CC down to a dull roar before the trip. Thank goodness most of it is pd before we sail...I don't want to come back with thousands added to it!

Partypat--that is so great that your son has the chance to visit those places. A friend of mine when to Israel not long after 9-11 and she felt extremely safe there, and had a great time (except that she was single and some of the men kind of leering at her once or twice, but she was with a group so didn't feel afraid about it). I hope he takes tons of pictures and you know he'll treasure the memory of this trip forever!

OH, how well I remember the feeling of March when I was commission based. No matter how much I socked away in quarterly payments I was always facing over $5K left over in payments due.

I actually am only able to cash out due to a freeze on option movement being lifted today (earnings were reported this week) that I had forgotten about. I have always treated stock options as funny money and never ever think about them - I put them in the safe and forget about them. Well, with the furvor over the freeze lifting I hauled them out and thought about it and feel like I came across found money. It's the first year I am not underwater with them anyways. It's coming at a good time for us. We were facing adding thouands to the credit cards from this cruise. Not a good thing for us.

At least our money is fairly high right now $0.89 Last time we went to Disney it was at $0.64 Just think about how much extra I have to come up with to pay for this cruise!

CG - Saw that you were tempted to upgrade to a suite. Don't do it. Just think, you can use that money to book your next cruise while your on board! How can your DH argue when you just saved all of that money by not upgrading?
