4:25 FOP FP+ followed by 4:40 Tiffins - possible?

We have a 4:25pm FP+ for FOP and I'm thinking of doing the Tiffins ROL dining package that night but the only time available is 4:40pm. We currently have a 5:35pm at Tiffins for a non-package meal which I'd cancel. Do you think we can make 4:40 at Tiffins (I expect there would be some short FP+ line + a FOP pre-show)? How much of a grace period do they give before we're considered a no-show?

Also, is the Tiffins ROL package worth it? We definitely want to dine at Tiffins and see ROL, but don't want to spend a time waiting for a good ROL view as we will have just arrived at AK for the FOP FP+ and will be excited to see as much of the park as possible at night (although we are returning the following morning), hence the dining package seems like a good idea. Thanks!

I would say no. When I had a fastpass for FoP around that time, during a slow season, it took about 20-30 minutes to get through everything. There still was a short line, even with FP, and then there's the pre-show.

I would say no. I think that 30 minutes is comfortably what you need to get through a FOP FP, so I'd try to move that ADR closer to 5:00, if you can.

I think you can use a FP 5 minutes early and ADRs usually give you some buffer for being late too. You might be fine, but I would change dinner 15-20 minutes later to be safe.

We have ridden FoP four times with FP+. Three out of four of those times there has been some type of technical glitch and either the pre-show was delayed or the ride itself was delayed. It has taken us up to 45 minutes just to get through the FP+ line, the 2 pre-shows, the ride and the exit. I would keep trying for a later ADR time.

No, not enough time. I wouldn't risk the $$$ on the dinner for the FOP.

thanks all - so is consensus that doing the Tiffins dining package is worth it? The only time available for the package is 4:40 -I've been looking at this ressie since the 180 day mark and that's all thats ever availbale - we do not want to do lunch as we will not get to AK in time that day. If the package is not worth it, I'd keep our later dinner ADR.

Great tip to get there early for the FP and if I have a 15-20 min grace period for the ADR we may be ok. I just don't want to end up with no Tiffins experience and a $30 charge if we are too late.

You should be fine. Show up at 4:20 and enter the FP line. Tiffin's is right outside Pandora..with a 20 min window for the ride you should be good even if you have a small wait. You don't have to be at the restaurant RIGHT at your time

We loved the ROL package, and at Tiffins you can actually save money with it (get the Wagyu beef!). Or if you're on the regular dining plan you get an appetizer that you wouldn't normally.

You should be ok. However, keep in mind that while it is not always enforced, the restaurant reserves the right to consider you a no-show a minute after your ADR time. Showing up a little late is not usually a problem, but I have seen Disney restaurants turn guests away for being a minute or 2 late. Disney recommends you get to the restaurant 15 minutes prior to your ADR time.

If it were me, I might stop by Tiffins on my way to FOP and let them know that you have a 4:40pm ADR, you're on your way now to a FOP FP, and you'll be back immediately after. I can't imagine a CM being "Soup Nazi" enough to turn you away after you've given them warning, and Disney's own system requires you to do all this scheduling in the first place.

I've not done FOP yet so I can't speak to the length of time, but I would definitely do it and I'd also be sure to take advantage of the 5 minute window entering the queue at 4:20pm.

I normally don't advise putting yourself in a position to be late to an ADR, but with your timing, the location of Tiffins, and that restaurant itself, I'd say go for it.

BUT, be prepared for anything with that ride. This is top of mind since we just did FOP FPs yesterday. FOP was down for 2-3 hours before our FP window... it opened up about 20-30 mins into our window. I was worried about that creating a mess of a FP line. Here's what our total experience time looked like from my photo time stamps:

4:22PM - Scanned FP
4:45PM - Pre show (they did some longer than normal pre-show I had not seen before... it extended some of the goofy arm-waving stuff and more scans)
5:08PM - Made it through gift shop exit

I think I got lucky in that the flood of people who had anytime FPs from the 2-3 hour closure were quickly heading back to Pandora, which I suspect made things even worse. I think we beat the rush.

Anyway, point being... just be prepared for anything to happen. :-)

I'm planning something similar during our April trip. However, be aware that they are making menu changes at Tiffins that may or may not suit your interests. We loved some dishes at Tiffins in the past that are being removed from the menu or significantly altered, so we are considering cancelling our reservation.

interesting re: menu changes. are the latest menus online? we are pretty adventurous eaters and were looking forward to a lot of interesting spices, flavors and some dishes have a decent amount of vegetables (we are not vegetarian, but prefer to have a big pile of veggies w/ a smaller potion of protein). also two of us can't eat gluten - I'll have to check out the allergy menu too. The menus I looked at back at the 180 mark had a lot of options for us.

I will go and do the package though - and will stop by prior to our FP window as suggested. Thanks so much folks -you rock!

Another alternative you could do is show up at say 4pm, explain to the cm at the FP entrance that you have a Tiffins ADR at 4:40, and if they would kindly let you in for your FP a little early.

I think that the ROL FP is worth it and would do it. I would not worry THAT much about the timing. You won’t be charged the no-show fee if you show up late and they will get you in.

I have heard that the Tiffins experience can be lengthy so it could run almost straight up to the ROL timeframe!

I would continue checking for a later ADR or earlier FP... you may get lucky! If not, I would go for it. Arrive 5 minutes early, and then simply explain your delay at Tiffins. I’m pretty sure they will seat you a little late without a problem.

Also, stop by Tiffins during the day and explain the situation. I did that once at Brown Derby because my son was delayed. I could not find a later reservation on MDE, so I just walked up to the podium and spoke to a hostess. She told me not to worry... they’d seat us when he arrived.
