Day 1 or "How do they all these people on the boat?"
Me and my DW arrived safe Friday at the Hyatt and hit the gift shops quickly because we still had room in our suitcases. They stuck us way up on the 8th floor overlooking the trams. We woke up before the wake up call and we were still trying to convince ourselves to relax, (Excitement level 5) Finally 9 am hit and we went and met the DCL rep and got checked in to wait for the bus. We boarded the first bus to the Port and 45 minutes and 3 Alligators later we crossed the bridge and there it was (Excitement Level 7). We got our cards waited for them to let us onboardl. When we got in line it was the farthest away we could get in the terminal and couldn't believe there were 2650 people. We saw 2 DISers in Lime green.
Word passed quickly, but not the waiting line, about them letting people in. (Excitement level 9). Which brings us to my UNOFFICIAL TIP/OBSERVANCE #1: Look down when you start moving in line, and watch out for little toes or speeding strollers.
We got our picture taken (we didn't break the camera) and the crew member asked our name and where from? We liked the blank look when we said Idaho. She announced us and WE WERE ONBOARD! (Excitement Level 10.5) DW asked now what and after researching the DIS for 14 months I commanded "Turn Left Through Atrium, Rockind Bar D for Palo on the off chance there were any left. There was Thursday 6:30 available and we snagged it right away(Excitement Level off the chart). After exploring the ship, 1:30 hit and we went down to our stateroom # 2046
We interrupt the report to give you a reflection on #2046.
Great location, Midship, close to stairs, Nice view. Really quiet except for Bad: Under Rockin Bar D and could hear the bass drum beat when they had live bands in there. Back the report:
We hit tospiders to have some lunch and had 2 Bahama Mamas to start the trip off right.
After the FUN lifeboat drill, we lucked out by meeting in the air conditioned Walt Disney Theater.
After we went to the DIS meet, and met the people behind their names. All were very nice. After the meet we sadly never saw any of them again on the cruise.
Later we were standing by Signals when the greatest sound, the Ship's horn and we were off.
UNOFFICIAL TIP#2: Stand right by signals at 5 and see what happens.
Got ready for dinner and met our stateroom host Imade who was really nice.
We had LAPLAPL for our rotation and had Mihaela and Rachel for our team. I warned them I was an eating machine, and had 2 entrees to start. She offered seconds and I ended up having 3.
DW was getting kinda seasick, and I was kinda wobbly and we turned in for the night and drifted off to sleep with the rocking of the boat, and the thumping of the drums from upstairs.
Coming up Day 2 or "Where did everybody go?"
