Hi everyone. DH and I have been reading on this board since middle of January. We booked in early January and are on the EBTA in April, too. It is time to get away from being a lurker on this site and start joining in. So, here we are!

We know about the ten posts and will be doing that soon. Also, about the first few pages and all the information they hold. We would love to have three lanyards, if available, for us during the cruise and one pristine for the scrapbook. Do I need to PM someone with our names (not really willing to post for all to see for safety reasons mentioned on this thread).

As for the safety reasons mentioned above - we have had a couple of scares/problems in the past and do not wish to repeat. Will gladly discuss in a PM or in person, though. My DH does not "talk" on forums, so we will both go by this name until the cruise and will have it on our lanyards!

Went to the bank today and ordered my Euros! My credit union just charges whatever the posted exchange rate is for the day they are shipped. I should have them on Friday or Monday. Now THAT will make it seem very real. I know the rate might be improving so I may have done better to wait longer, but I just like to have things all sewn up. I asked for no bills larger than 10s, so we won't need to worry about folks not having change for large bills. We are so very excited.

How exciting!!

I plan on going to my bank this Friday to tell them when I'll be gone and see about ordering some Euros. I'm even more excited than I was since I found this thread.

DH and I are middle aged (or older, as our kids think so!!). We have two grown children - one out and married and one working on another degree in college. We have one dog - our baby! Gonna miss dog on the cruise!! Oh yeah, and the kids, too!!

Through our AAA, we can order for the posted exchange rate for the day and no other charges. It takes about four days to get them at AAA and then we just pick them up!

If you drop off your passport at guest services the night before Castaway they will stamp there. Unfortunatly we did not have much luck getting it stamped anywhere else on the last TA.

I never knew you could get it stamped for Castaway...hey one place is better than none but I was hoping to be able to get some stamps in mine too.

If you give your passport to the CMs at Guest Services, they will TRY to get it stamped for you when the various Customs people are there to clear the ship. They make no promises, and it's totally up to the cooperation of the other country's agents, but many times they can do it for you.

SO lucky that your AAA does Euros. Mine acts like it's a pain to do trav. cheques in dollars.

Auntlynne, I don't have my cabin number yet but if I happen to end up with something not already on the list, I'd be happy to have everyone come see!

...I'd be willing to show our cabin, but we're still on GTY status, so we could wind up with either a 6, 5, or 4!...

I think we'll have to be putting out exact cabin #s after we are on board - a bunch of people will be upgraded, I imagine. If we know who is willing to share, it will definitely be easier. Thank you for letting us peep.

Have tons of dice here, actually collect them but also they are 5 for $1 at W*lmart but have never played bunco, have wanted to learn tho, we'll see how it goes between now and then. I bought a bunco set at Christmas time, maybe time to open it up! ...

Vienna for school? work? mission? Always interested in people's travels.

Have you managed to read keep up with the posts (and read the last thread, too)?

When you have 10 posts, you can PM me. Let me know if it is okay to have your names (first only) in the mini-Navigator that we will distribute among ourselves. I'll keep your information off the boards, website, wherever - just let me know.

See, she knows those lanyards are like magnets, drawing us in to talk to them. That's why we want everyone to have one.

As for the pens...I think atleast 2 pens for every group of 4. It will just make it easier at the end of each round to mark down peoples W and L.

I have 15 WALT DISNEY RESORTS pens. I'll bring those, and I can also bring regular pens if you can't get some DCL/other Disney pens, if we need more. I also have 17 WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT notebooks (8.5"x5.5", appx 10 sheets/notebook) if anyone wants them. Would it be mean of me to drop those into random FE's??

You are on a ship with 2000+ passengers and 950 crew members, and you think you like privacy. I'd believe it better if you were booked for Richard Branson's island in the Caribbean. ...And you call yourself mommy to 3 princesses - a pretty good giveaway.

Just don't serve any wine during the tour - and we'll try not to schedule it after a beer tasting, either.

Welcome new folks... The boards have been fun to read the past few days with all the newbie sharing their little factoids ....

I have to say..... a billion THANKS! to all of the organizers of palo,bunco,fe's lanyards,websites, cabin tours and the like....
I love DCL but...being a part of this group has made me love it even more! (and it only took me 4 cruises to find it )
