Kristi,

You could always try the purex before the trip. Buy a package and use one sheet on a small load. If it causes a reaction for you, I'll buy the package from you on the ship, because I plan to use them on the cruise anyhow...that way, you won't loose money if you can't use the package.

Has anyone used the Purex sheets that has had a sensitivity to laundry detergents?

Kristi

Hi Kristi -

I use their hypoallergenic 3-in-1 sheet - it's called "Purex Pure & Clean" - when we travel. It has a light fragrance to it, but it doesn't kill me or make me feel like I have to crawl out of my skin like some other laundry detergents do.

QOTD #2 What is your favorite Disney Movie?

Mary Poppins, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid

When I called DCL, I was told I was unable to change to the new rate, even though I was already in a Cat 12 GTY, without a penalty. I asked the CSR if I could upgrade to a higher level cabin, and he said, "you can't make ANY changes", which I know doesn't sound realistic at all. What if I wanted to move to a Cat 3, and pay lots of $$...Disney doesn't want more revenue? :rotfl2:

Here's what I did...

I logged onto my reservation on the DCL website. Clicked on the "Modify" button under "My Reservation", clicked on "Change" under Stateroom, and then selected the cheaper price. Now, when I got to review changes, it was the same price, so I went back to the "Change" part, selected the first cheapest price option again, and then went on to review, the new price was active.

It was a little bit of a hoop jump, but I got myself $200 off. :)

-Steve

Steve, have you already paid in full? Just wondering how they would refund the $200 if you have already paid.

--------------
We booked through AAA and we'll try tomorrow for the rate change. We'll let you know how we come out. *crosses fingers*

It does stink that people can't get the re-fare, but this is the policy for most cruise lines - after final payment you can't re-fare your reservation, you could only upgrade to another category if it's available. The trouble is that some people are getting it and some aren't....maybe they let a certain # of re-fares in or those who got it were with cm's that didn't know any better. Who knows :confused3

That's great about DU. Typically TA's aren't happy about re-faring because basically they're losing money and having to do more work.

There is just me and my DH. We're both adults (but a lady never tells her age!;))

Ok, gottcha down. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
These are *crazy* rates!!!! I just called my mom and told her about the new rate. I don't think that rate has come down? Single rate is $1,014. My mom is thrilled---she doesn't care what cat she sleeps in since she'll be with us most of the day. :)

This is making me wish I could cancel my suite and book a B2B in 2 adjoining - Cat 12's with these amazing rates!!!

Maybe it will make you feel just a tad better, there are are no connecting 12's, or 11's, and more than likely your rooms could be assigned wherever they assign them. The 2 rooms could even be on different floors. Category 12's are never assigned a room number and are the ultimate GTY status. With little kids, I know that could be a deal breaker! There would be no guarantee that the rooms would be even by each other. :scared1:

Smart! Congrats!

Thanks for clearing it up for me. All cabins, one time minimum, any day delivery. OK got it. :)

I have a call into my TA for the lower rates. I will see what happens. Off to Maui for the week. Looks like I am following Lynne but we miss each other by one days. Oh well, I have to wait for the Magic. Aloha everyone.
I guess I should make things less complicated in the main post. LOL!
Have a GREAT trip!

I know, I thought their upload agent would reject the image because of the name...But I uploaded and used the design without a problem...Let me know if you think I should put a bigger design on the back or across the chest...changing is fairly easy...I went for the more subtle "left pocket" position with this.

Can the link to the shirt be added to the website, or on the first page so we can find it easily in the thread?

Just to let you know, the sizes run small. I bought a shirt a couple of years ago in the size I normally wear. It was rather snug when I put it on. I knew after one or two washings I wouldn't be able to wear it. Customer service sent me a size larger and it was great. So if you order, get a size larger than you normally would.

Did they have any v-neck shirts? Just curious.

Wahhhhhh I have suite envy, we have had 8032 for eight cruises on the Magic. It has a slight edge over 8532 because in the second left drawer of the vanity there is an extension cord power strip and the pull across clothes line over the bath tub (silly reasons I know). Twice me and dh took 8032 with our littles and our teens were across the elevator lobby in 8532. That was nice.

Sadly, we shall be sailing in regular rooms. And on the MED, we will be trying insides for the first time. We will miss the space but need the money for such a large family and all the excursions.

I am lime green with envy :)

Great to hear about the power strip in the the drawer. My blow dryer had to be plugged into our power strip in the closet last sailing. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 There was a clothes line across the bath tub in 8532. I didn't use it because I brought the stick-on hooks that hung on the bathtub wall. It's a huge  to travel with 5, I can't imagine a family your size. :thumbsup2

Thank you for posting this because it really does make me feel better. I love the suites, but I also love a good sale. ;) That is definitely a deal breaker for us.

Safeway has them. They come in a pack of 20. I can pick one up for you, we were going to get together for coffee anyhow :)

Will swing by Safeway tomorrow, thanks. BTW, I crossed that dang bridge 5 times today in 5 hours!!! I have a friend in town who is staying in Kirkland and I had to drive her around to her sales calls today. I was so worried that I was going to get stuck in holiday traffic. I timed it right and made sure my last crossing was at 3PM. Flew home and the rain actually stopped for 5 minutes. :thumbsup2

Let's definitely get together soon. :yay:

Favorite princess: Cinderella or Belle

Steve, have you already paid in full? Just wondering how they would refund the $200 if you have already paid.

Oh yeah, I've been paid in full since November.

I'm hoping through the original form of payment. The new confirmation email sent after I made the changes said there was a -$200 balance due. :)

When the refund comes, I'll be sure to post.

I wonder how long it'll take to make 50 FE gifts to include a Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheet and a Shout Color Catcher sheet. Muahahahahaha.... ;)

I plan on two loads of laundry so this would be a great item to put out for FE so I will just pack the entire box. Even better with these the men can do the laundry while the gals have tea and we will not have to worry about seperating items! :rotfl:

I NEVER seperate... it has been the root of many arguments between me & my Mom for years! :rotfl2:

When my DS was 4yrs old we did the laundry together and he was a good separator. When my son became a Marine in 2007 he stopped separating, I guess because all of his clothes are either brown or green. :laundy:

I like to do a few smaller loads a week & never get backed up on laundry-- so I usually don't have enough to separate. If I have a lot, I will separate then- but as a rule I don't. Now if Gav gets a new red sweatshirt or something I will do that alone-- I thinks separating is over rated... I told that to my niece when she started college, too!

A big thanks to disneymum for forwarding the taxi service info for Madeira.

We have booked a private car for 6 of us (including my mom) for 4-5 hours.

* Monte and toboggan ride
* Cabo Girão, visiting Our Lady of Fátima Chapel
* Câmara de Lobos
* Possibly also Curral das Freiras and Pico dos Barcelos
* Along the way stopping for lunch
* Back to Funchal on time for the Flower Parade

140 euros for tour.

Very excited about this! Off to cancel DCL excursion.

QOTD #3. On this cruise, are you more excited about Sea Days or Port Days?

I am more excited about Sea Days. Warm up the dice.

I placed the link to the CafePress store on the first page, in my Book Exchange post.

Sorry, Kristi, no v-necks :(

I placed an order just to make sure they will actually print it with the Disney name. I'll let you know if I hear otherwise. When I tried to upload images of characters several years back, I wasn't allowed to even upload.. So the fact I could upload this image makes me optimistic. But still...

Mommy to3Princesses -- 5 TIMES over the bridge? You're a nicer friend than me! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Most excited about days at sea. I LOVE being on the water!

GOOD MORNING MY FELLOW CRUISERS, WE SAIL IN 12 WEEKS

By the way, QOTD - sea days look great, but I have never been to Europe, so Port days do have a charm for me
