We usually plan our vacations roughly a year in advance, but we're planning a bit sooner this year with a June 14-19 trip to Universal (instead of WDW like we usually do... The WDW trip in Nov. is booked and paid for).

This is an extra trip. Something we decided to do this past weekend and after looking @ the numbers, we can actually stay @ the Comfort Inn, and get three 7-day passes for $584.00.

Now... With that said, should I spring for the extra (roughly) $600 to stay on site @ Royal Pacific and get the Unlimited Express Passes?

We'll have 5 days (giving time to travel) in the parks and while I know thats enough time to do both parks, I'm still the type of person to get fidgety while waiting in lines and watching folks walk right past me.

So... Middle of June... How bad is it? Should I get the Express Passes? Or just relax and deal with long lines? Or will they not be that long for some reason?

Thanks,
mike

The Express passes are at their second lowest price that week so I wouldn't worry about purchasing the EP ahead of time. If you arrive and find the lines are getting too long for you, you can always purchase the EP at either park.

Metro thanks for the response... I appreciate the help!

I think that you should and let me tell you why....last year (2008) we were there during that same week and if we hadn't had the FOTL from RPR we wouldn't have enjoyed our time as much as we had.

We met a lady from England who had spent hours waiting for her kids standing in line at the most popular rides. Her kids waited for over an hour for Spiderman & Mummy while we went on/off and actually my family rode Spiderman a couple of times while we sat and talked since I was sooo tired of riding it - it's my youngest DD favorite ride and after riding it 7 times in a span of two days I had had enough, so I let my DH ride it with her :rotfl2:

Also, check with AAA and see what kind of deal you can get for the hotel - we got a great rate through them last year.

Thanks czycropper... I think we've settled on staying @ the Royal Pacific.

Just have to get everything finalized and paid for tonight and we'll officially be counting down.

Don't forget that there's also a VIP Express 7-day pass for both parks for $259 each that allows unlimited express admission to all rides at both parks for 7 days. That's $160 more per person than you'd pay for the 7 day passes...but $120 less than you'd pay for the week for your stay at RPR. The resorts are really nice though and you wouldn't have to fight with the parking garage in the morning.

I highly doubt they would need these passes in June but it's a good idea during busy times.

I saw those passes, but figured that $780 for 3 tickets w/ passes was a bit extreme when I could stay off site (hotel and tickets) for $585.00. Something about it just felt 'not right'.

Not sure how, but I was more comfortable staying at RPR and please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the VIP pass the same thing that you'll get by staying @ RPR w/ the Free unlimited Express Pass?
