3rd week in January?

Hi all. Please tell me about the 3rd weekend in January. We're thinking about a 5-day trip... how are the crowds? Is it swim weather? Thanks!

We went in Jan. 2004, it was great---no crowds, we swam most days, but wore long sleeves some too. It was never freezing. I think MLK day is probably a little busy, but otherwise, you should be fine.

The next year (oddly enough) we went in early Feb. froze to death and there were more crowds!! go figure.

Weather is very unpredictable. Can be 75 one day, 55 the next. Have worn gloves & a bathing suit in the same week.

Crowds are very managable. Depending on your exact dates, MLK weekend, the marathon & Superbowl in Miami this year may have some impact but....

It will be great. If this trip falls on the Monday of MLK day then there may be an influx in people that weekend. I was there the same time in 2002. We loved it. The weather was perfect and the crowds were low. Crowds were particularly low because it was only 4 months after 9/11. I would definitely go the same week again!!!!

Thanks for the quick replies! We're actually looking at going around the 18th so I'll need to check on which date MLK day falls as well as the Super Bowl....
