So we cancelled our trip last year and we're looking to go in December of this year. We have 2 weeks to work with. We are looking at the 2nd and 3rd week in December because attendance it traditionally lower than normal in December (a good thing for us ;) We absolutely want to see the Christmas decorations while their up. A few things we don't want:

1) we don't want to be there during Pop Warner week

2) we don't want to be there between Christmas and New Years

3) we don't want to be there with big crowds

We think we're pretty safe for the second week in Dec. (after PW), but we're not sure how crowded it will be the 3rd week (week before Christmas). Anyone have any insight as to how crowds are during that week? Thanks!

Most of the guides I've read say that up the week after Thanksgiving through the end of the week before Christmas is value season....less crowded, less expensive. I haven't been there myself during that time, so I can't give you a first hand report.

Could be the lowest crowd time of the year, and the best time to go.

We were there last December 16 thru the 22nd. The crowds were great until the 21st. The crowds seemed to arrive over night on that day. Even Epcot seemed overly crowded on the morning of the 22nd. The first five days were the smallest crowds we have ever seen. Almost no waits and some shows were only 3/4 full. I would say you are picking a great time to go. Also it took over an hour to clear security at MCO on the evening of the 22nd. Tons of people traveling on that day. We are going back next December, but we are bumping our trip up a few days to miss the crowds.

We were there Dec. 11-21 2004.

Crowds started picking up on Sat. the 18th because many schools were out the day before. It was still tolerable.

Epcot on the 21st was packed!

We're going back this year Dec. 9-16.
