How do these two times compare? I'm thinking about crowds and weather.

I've been reading here that there is this sweet spot in August where most kids are back in school and AP blackout has not opened up yet so it is less crowded. Is it really less crowded or just slightly? I assume early November would still be less crowded than August, but do you think it would be much less?

I'd like to avoid crowds as much as I can, while not taking the kids out of school for too many days.

Also, how hot is August really? I'm a WDW vet so August is totally out for Florida. Is it that bad in CA? How is November? Still fairly warm?

We are going the week after labor day. We did the same trip 8 years ago and it was ~95 every day. Not sure about the humidity, but it was brutal for us. I can only imagine August will that or hotter.

Our last trip 2 years ago was right before Halloween and the crowds were fine. DL is a little different in that it seems to be crowded as locals show up after work most days anyway, so I would imagine dead in the morning with crowds building into closing in November. It was much cooler weather wise. I think 80 was the high and we even got a decent rainstorm one day.

August is typically hotter than November (on average), but it won't be anything like Florida in August (usually, Anaheim doesn't have the humidity like Orlando). November is kind of hit-or-miss in terms of being warm versus being cold. You can get a sense of the weather ranges in this thread:

In terms of crowds, I do think that the first week in November is likely to be less busy than August, but it depends on which days you're going. The weekends are still going to busy, especially the weekend of Nov 5/6 because of Dapper Days. We don't know what the entertainment schedule will be like, but there is a chance that there will be short operating hours and no fireworks or nighttime parade during the weekdays in early November. There is also a chance that IaSW, Jungle Cruise, and Space Mtn may be down during that period (either to have overlays installed or removed), but we won't know the schedule for a few more months (usually 45-days in advance).

Go when suits your schedule. Do you want to see DL between Halloween & xmas decor? Go nov.
