3rd Time's the Charm!? A 2014 PTR *NEW 11/21!*

Just found your PTR and am subscribing!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's a special journey, and an even greater one once she joins your family.

December is such a great time to visit Disney. All the holiday decorations just add to the Disney magic.:goodvibes

All caught up! Congratulations on Baby girl! When ate you due?

I am so sorry about the loss of your first little one. It sounds like you guys have gad a lot to deal with your first couple years of marriage. I am glad the trip is finally coming together! I understand how hard it can be to wait (DH and I took our first vacation after 5 years of marriage, we didn't even have a honey moon before that!)

Best wishes for you and your little family! Pixiedust:

:welcome: Thanks for coming by! I am so excited to add to our little family, and taking her to WDW is going to be the experience of a life time! December is a great time to go. We used to go at Christmas for years, but then I didn't go for quite some time, and when I went back, it was like a whole new experience!

Thank you! I'm due January 25th :) We really did have a tough time at the beginning of our marriage, but I think that we have come out stronger because of it. That vacation that you took after 5 years must have been amazing!!

That is a great attitude to have! Struggle at the begging of a marriage can make you stronger. I lost my father the first year we were married. I took it really hard and was not the best person to be around, but DH stood by me and we are stronger for it!

The vacation was amazing! It was the Disney vacation we took last May! Now we have the travel and Disney bug!

I love touring Epcot in a relaxed way, your plans sound great. There's SO much to see in around the World Showcase, I especially love taking my time around there!

I love Epcot. It's such a relaxing place to be. It's not about rushing to rides or things like that, it's just about enjoying the different cultures and relaxing. It's always a nice way to combat all the craziness of the other parks. I love how you appreciate the classics just as much as me.

What rumors are you hearing about the Pavilion? I haven't heard anything and now I'm scared. I love my little Figment! Don't take him away! Though, I did take my DH on that ride for the first time on our honeymoon. To say the least, I think he seriously thought about divorce at that moment. LOL. :lmao:

Epcot is also a great place to take a baby. We're looking at doing the F&WF after we have a kid figuring it'll be a nice place to start with a young one.

I'm sorry for the loss of your father, but I agree with you that some adversity can make you stronger. We also have a long travel bucket list, and I seem to want to go back to WDW every year for some unknown reason :rotfl2:

I completely agree! And I feel like every time I even read a report, I see new things about Epcot that I want to try and see on my next trip.

I completely agree! It is so relaxing to just walk around and take it all in. I have been going to WDW since I was a baby, and I enjoy classic things so WDW classics are really awesome in my books! I heard a rumour a while ago about the pavilion being moved or changed, and I went into a panic - I love Figment!

My DH doesn't quite know what to do with my Disney obsession, but I think that he is warming up to it. He told me the other day that he thinks our baby will be born wearing mouse ears :lmao:

I just wanted to say Hi and I'm sorry that I have been very negligent with my report reading. I will get caught up on all of your reports as soon as I can!

Things have been really busy with school, and work, and getting things ready for the baby.

Talk to you all soon!

NO apologies necessary. This is a very important and busy time in your life; we will be here when you get here.

I know I was subbed to this TR at some point, but I think I lost it.

Congratulations on a girl! Very exciting. Girls are awesome! I absolutely love the baby clothes and goodies you posted. Just adorable.

Epcot plans look fun! Love all the pictures!

Thanks Kathy! I didn't think that things would get quite so crazy quite so quickly lol

Finally!!! It is finally time for an actual update. I have really missed coming to the boards and reading about Disney and making plans for my own trips. I'm so glad to be back, and I've caught up on quite a few trip reports already! If I haven't caught up on yours yet, I will do my best to be caught up soon.

So what have I been up to since you last heard from me?

Some bad stuff, some good stuff, some amazing stuff!

Lets start with the bad and get it right out of the way. My car died and I've been having a heck of a time trying to get a new one. I've been super busy and I'm trying to research and figure out what is going to work best and it is quite a process. I really wish that I didn't need a car, they are so expensive! My computer also died. I had someone I know look at it to see if it could be saved, but alas, I had to buy a new computer. All of these things are really not helping my Disney budget!

As for the good stuff, I got a new job, so I'm bringing in more money now and we will be able to build the savings back up for our trip and any other things that we need. It really takes away a lot of the stress that I was feeling. I kept my old job for a shift or two a week just to have that little bit extra, but I'm not sure how long I'll continue with that. It is a really horrible work environment and I'm debating whether the extra money is worth it or not.

Now for the best part of this update. The whole reason that there are going to be some big changes to our trip...

Are you ready?

Are you excited?

Okay, okay, I'll get to it...

We're having a baby!!!

That picture isn't very clear - it's a cell picture of a picture, but you get the point. Baby is due January 25th! We've been pretty nervous, but really excited and so far, everything is going really, really well.

We've decided to post-pone our anniversary trip for this year, and we are planning on going to WDW for baby's first trip in December or 2014!! So now, instead of planning romantic, adult stuff to do at WDW, we need to plan all of the things that need to happen on baby's first trip! I've waited for this day for years.

So that is my official update, and I am sure that I will be on here updating all of our plans soon. I hope that you will follow along with me as I plan for this big day!

ETA: Sorry the pic is so big!

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:
How exciting for you! I just logged on to get caught up on some reports and I didn't even get farther than this. Just had to shout out congrats!

Now...back to reading the rest of your updates.:lmao:

Oh my goodness Krysten, before you know it you'll be in your last trimester! :goodvibes Doesn't the time seem to fly by after 20 weeks?

Your Epcot plans look fantastic. I think our approach is going to be similar.

Another Living with the Land nerd here.

I love what you said about everything being new again. :goodvibes It truly is amazing to see your little one experience something for the first time.

I know!! It is crazy. The first few weeks of this pregnancy absolutely dragged, but it seems to be going faster and faster and my to do list is only getting bigger lol

It is nice to see people who understand why it is so awesome to take a baby to Disney. So many people just don't get it because the child "won't remember anything". We all went when we were babies, and I'm glad that we had that opportunity so I would like to pass it on to my children as well.

I've been going since I was a baby as well! That's probably why we like the classics so much, it's what we grew up with! You know... now that I think about it, I think I heard that rumor as well. Not sure what the updates are with it now. I think they took Figment out for awhile and he's been back, but who knows. I still miss the old Pavilion where BodyWorks used to be and everything. That was my favorite part of Epcot when I was a kid. Now it sits abandoned.

Haha, your DH sounds just like mine. He encourages it but looks at me like I'm crazy half the time when I talk about how excited I am or if I've heard some new Disney news or something. Oh, see... I've already picked out the outfit that our kid will wear when we bring him/her home (whenever we get pregnant).... and it's totally Disney themed! LOL. :rotfl:

ALSO! Just noticed your ticker!!! SO EXCITING!!! I can't believe you're less than 4 months out! Wow! So excited for you!

I haven't heard any updates on it either, and I'm a little too afraid to look! I'm hoping that it was just a silly rumour. BodyWorks was so much fun, too! It's too bad that they can't keep everything.

I don't have baby girl's going home outfit picked out yet, but I imagine that it will have something to do with Disney! I do already have plenty of Disney ideas planned for the newborn photoshoot though.

I can't believe we have only a few months left! There is still so much to do, and not enough time to do it all.

I guess I should do another update, it has been almost a month since my last one :scared1:

In life news, time is going by far too quickly. Only about 3.5 months until the baby arrives!!! We are already at midterms for school, thanksgiving is this coming weekend, eek! We are working on re-insulating the walls in the nursery so that the temperature is regulated better (our house is pretty old). I did a bunch of research on pricing and stuff, and DH got started on the room this weekend! I'm hoping that it goes by quickly so that we can get the room painted and start organizing everything.

In Trip news, still not much has changed at this far out. I'm going to just post a quick update about some plans for DHS, AK, and DTD. Those plans haven't changed much for us, so I don't see a need to put them in their own separate updates.

Hollywood Studios

I like DHS, but it isn't my favourite park, and I'm not sure how baby-friendly it is going to be for us. A couple of my favourite attractions are TSM, GMR, and the animation class, so hopefully I can do those. I'm not sure if DH would want to ride anything else, like RnR or ToT, but he'd be on his own if he did! We might try and catch a couple of other shows, and do some character meets but it will really depend on the baby. I don't see us spending a lot of time at this park.

Animal Kingdom

I don't think that a whole lot will change as far as our AK plans go either. I hope that we can take a relaxed approach to the park because it is so beautiful. I've wanted to walk some of the trails for years now and still haven't done it, so this might be our opportunity. It might be a nice quiet thing to do while the baby has a nap. I also want to still go on the Kilimanjaro Safari, see the Finding Nemo and Lion King shows, try to catch a parade, and do a few more character meets.

I don't care much for Everest, so I am fine with skipping it. We usually ride Dinosaur and Kali River Rapids but I wouldn't be upset if I missed them either. I've rode them enough times, and I always end up getting soaked to the bone on KRR (ick!!), so it's not a big deal.

Something else new that I think might be fun is Rafiki's Planet Watch. I've read about it in TR's and it seems really fun and great for kids. I know that our baby girl will be a bit young for that sort of thing, but it could be fun anyway!

I am actually more excited about AK for this trip than I usually am!

Downtown Disney
** Note to self - take pictures at DTD!**

In looking through my photo bucket accounts, I see that I really don't have many pictures of DTD (at least not recent ones) so I need to take some on this trip.

DTD is usually just somewhere we go on an arrival day, or at night after we visit a park and don't go to any EMH or something. I don't anticipate this trip being any different. I am going to seriously have to watch my wallet going anywhere near DTD with a baby girl though!! I plan on visiting World of Disney, Basin, Disney's Days of Christmas, Mickey's Pantry, Once Upon a Toy, Pooh Corner, and I might take a peek in Tren-D.

This trip still seems pretty far away, but I know that it is going to be here faster than I think.

To Do List:
- Work on To Do List :rotfl2: I don't have much on here yet, so I need to start planning
- Make a list of characters to meet at each of the parks
- Make a list of pictures that I want to make sure that I take

Well, that's all for today!

I agree with you...DHS is not high on our list at all.

I think doing the trails at AK with the baby is a very good idea, sleeping or not. The baby might like the movement of the animals. There is a petting zoo at Rafiki's Planet where you can pet the goats. It's not an every time visit, but it is interesting there.

DTD is very troublesome for me...DH always wants to take my wallet away from me. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Definitely the right idea to just take it easy. I think there is plenty to do in DHS, it is just a matter of whether you want to or not. I'd definitely recommend checking out the Disney Junior show... maybe while your DH sneaks off to do RnR and TOT. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1
