3rd December - why is MK open late, I'm suspicious

Hi, I have just checked opening times and notice that MK is open until 11 on 3rd Dec. It isn't MVMCP; so I wonder why the late opening time, is there any reason, are they expecting it to be busy as I thought early Dec was usually quite quiet (although I know Saturday will be popular). I am trying to sort my schedule out, and coming from the UK I don't know if I am missing something important that is going on!

I know they are taping the christmas parade that morning - maybe they are staying open late to compensate for the morning?

Hello, thank you for the replies. The 3rd was scheduled to be our only full day at MK and I am wondering how much problem the taping will cause? I have also seen people mention Pop Warner, which I understand is usually on around that time - I don't know what this is....please help!

As this is usually the time we are in WDW. Last december we were there and the park was open till midnight on the 2nd saturday. No special reason, there was no MVMCP that night and no taping that morning that we know of but the entire park was open and it was empty. My DD3 is a tea cup fanatic and we rode that thing 4 times by our selves. If only she was a haunted mansion fanatic. The only thing that night was that it was COLD and we stayedd till closing

Pop Warner is the Super Bowl of Pop Warner football, held at WWOS that weekend.

As DisLUV mentions above, MK was open till 11 on Saturday, December 4, 2004. It was also open till 11 on Saturday, December 6. I smell a trend!

DisLuv is correct. I have done this time of the year many times and each Saturday the MK was always opened late. Usually with very large crowds. I'm going to try to brave it this year since we will be arriving in the late afternoon.

It is not due to EEH. The AK has EE that day.

I will be there on the 10th and it is scheduled to be open until 11 with Wishes at 10pm. I was wondering the same thing but at any rate......I'll be there!

We were at MK in 2003 on the Christmas Parade taping day and as long as you avoid Main St during the am to mid day you can still do ALOT. We took the train around to Splash and worked our way around with minimal waits and crowds. We did see an occasional crowd or someone being taped but if you avoid it you can have a great day.

I partly think it's disney's way of thowing you a bone, due to the fact that many nights around this time are closed early due to MVMCP.

Aren't they usually open until 10 or 11 on Saturdays? FYI, according to some posts on the RB all of the resorts are booked solid on 12/3.

I was there and it was open till 11pm, becuz it was Saturday is all. It was busy and it was FUN!!!!
