3niqhts-3different rooms. Crazy??

Want to stay at akv in oct. The only availability is 1 night in 1 room another in the next choice, and the third in another room.

My wife thinks crazy but why not? Disney will move my stuff right? And I will get a fresh clean room each night. Makes sense to me. Am I missing something?

As long as you:

(1) don't mind not having a room from 11 till 4

(2) don't mind packing up each day

(3) having a wife who thinks you are crazy

then do it. Just make sure to do a waitlist and use both of your waitlists if you can.

To much of a hassle for me. A nicer way to say, yes, you're crazy.

What you are suggesting is like being on a road trip and saying in a different hotel each night.

Three nights, three different rooms is not something we would do. Too disruptive. We switched resorts in the middle of a 13 night stay once. That was ok, but we had to plan around the day we changed resorts.

I'm not saying your nutty, but the idea of switching rooms during a three night stay just seems nutty. Relax at another beautiful Disney resort for three enjoyable days and nights.

Have fun whatever you choose.

I say go for it, but I am a professional traveler.

Here are some tips:
1. Have everything you need for each day packed separately. Either in separate bags or in huge zip bags so you aren't searching for things you need in each room. You will pretty much stay packed the entire trip.
2. Use resort bath products or get a bag for all the bathroom stuff. When you use the bath products, put it back in the bag. It will be like you are repacking all the time.
3. Plan your day well. As many have pointed out, you will be homeless for a small amount of your day, so plan your personal time (sleep/rest/bathroom) around your room stays.

I have done this before and it isn't a big deal--You can't overpack though. We kept a luggage cart in our room each evening and pre-loaded it. When we got up to go to breakfast, we made the call to store the luggage. I kept the bell service number on my phone, and checked before we left the park to see when our room was ready. We were never homeless in the middle of the day one time over four days, and always made it back for the pool and a nap (one morning we moved to our new room before breakfast). The bell service was wonderful and very understanding; when we got to our room, there was the cart with our luggage in the middle of the room ready to go. I also packed not by person, but by room, so when we changed rooms, we changed bags and didn't go back to the one from the day before (just stashed it in the closet). Each day one bag had everything in it for each person for that day--it was really easy. It isn't for everyone, but I didn't mind a bit.

I'm exhausted just thinking about it!! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Seriously? Weren't they missing that cart all night long? How did you even get the cart?

Good luck in your decision. We bought DVC because we wanted a home away from home - and truly use it that way so I would not like not having a place to go to in the afternoon. We are making 1 move over 10 nights and I am still dreading being without a room for 1 full day and hoping it will not be a full day, but feeling it will be worth it since we are moving into the GV at BLT for the last 6 nights!

No--it wasn't a big deal and we had talked to bell services the day we checked in. The bellman (who was the same for two of the days btw) brought it to us each evening and left it--it helped them out as well that we were always ready to go in the morning. We were at Saratoga and we honestly didn't mind it--although one room change happened twice as there was a broken AC unit (so I guess we technically changed five times in four days). We were never in that room however, they just called the cell and let me know the differing room number. We actually stored two bags for the last two days with bell services since I packed by day rather than by person, so each time we moved, we moved less. I don't know--I travel a ton, sometimes with as many as 300 people at once, so I'm totally unfazed by stuff like this on my personal vacations. Bottom line: it depends on you. What's ok for me, may be a nightmare for you

Your experience is not the norm. Disney has an agreement with the unions that guests are not to use the luggage carts at WDW and that an adult must be present when luggage is picked up or dropped off, (for tipping).

DME is the only exception because the tip for DME luggage delivery is covered by Disney or Mears.

I wouldn't do it. The last time I stayed in AKV we had an awful time with luggage services. This was at the Jambo though. We ended up waiting for hours for our luggage. I would much rather stay in one place, and see AKV another time when I can book it for the time I wanted.
