We are planning a trip to Orlando next February and will be doing three days at Universal and two at WDW. This is our first time at Universal and we are so excited! We are huge Harry Potter fans and this has been a long time coming. We have done Disney trips before.
Anyway, my question is about the 3D rides. My youngest DD (6) has vision issues and cannot see 3D. What kind of experience will she still have?

The last time we were in WDW she was not even two and it was before we discovered her issues.

Any tips or comments about the rides would be appreciated.

I too have trouble with 3-D. I know there are a lot of people just like us. I wish they would stop adding 3-D to so many of the new rides. It used to be unique, but not anymore.

If she is like me, then it will feel the same as it does when trying to watch a 3-D movie at the theater. In other words, its not a deal breaker. You can't see the 3-D, but you can still tell what's going on and the rides will still feel fun.

At Universal...Spiderman, Despicable Me, Shrek, Transformers and Terminator use 3-D glasses.

At Disney.....A Bug's Life, Muppets, Mickey's Philharmagic and Toy Story Mania use 3-D.

Does your daughter wear reading glasses?

3D glasses work by each lens allowing only one of the 2 images that are projected to be seen by each eye. Ask the ride operators for the non-3D glasses that have both lenses allowing in the same image. This will give the viewer a clear picture to see. I am not sure that every 3D ride has the 2D glasses, need to ask.

My son and I rode despicable me today. We both wear glasses. I sat in the front bench seating because i get motion sick. Bad choice. The 3 d glasses did not fit well over mine so I had to hold them on. I was nauseated looking at the screen without the glasses. I spent most if the ride with my eyes closed. I don't like 3d rides.
