3Bdrm Villa: BW vs OKW

I am completely new to the 3Bdrm villa scene, and want to rent in early Dec 06 for a family of 8. First, how difficult is it to get a 3bdrm villa? Second, does anyone with experience have a preference between BW and OKW as far as the villa itself? (I'm assuming that OKW will likely be larger).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since you are talking about a time period just 8 months out for a season that is VERY popular with DVC members, I would say you might be too late for getting a 3 bedroom Grand Villa at this point. BWV only has 9 of them and OKW has 27, but they are usually booked very early for this popular time frame. You wont know until you try though. As far as the units go, the size isn't as different in the GVs as it is in the other units.

You may already be too late for the BWV 3 bedrooms - there are only 7 and early December is very popular with DVC members. There are almost certainly waitlists already for at least some of your dates. Since the OKW Grand Villas are quite a bit less expensive (albeit more numerous), they also tend to book early in the reservation period. Most members do not like to use waitlists for renters - too many other opportunities to rent out their points to "keep them on hold" hoping for a waitlist to work.

You might also consider a 2 bedroom (sleeps 8). If you don't want people sleeping in the living room, add a 1 bedroom or a studio to the 2 bedroom reservation and request that they be near to each other. (No guarantees, but DVC does try to accomodate those kind fof requests).

My advice is to decide on the resort and get the reservation rented soon. Once the 7 month window opens, the remaining units (all sizes) will book quickly, especially at the BWV.

BWV points are a lot more than OKW for the villa.
