Hi everyone,

My wife and I have just booked our next Disney holiday for December 2015!! I felt compelled to post as this booking was a little unexpected. We will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We last stayed there in 2001 and since then we have been to other resorts, but we have never been back to the Caribbean. There was no particular reason for not going back - it was more a case that other resorts have been more appealing. This will be our fourteenth visit to Disneyworld since our "holiday of a lifetime" in 1992. We last went to Disneyworld in December last year and stayed in Animal Kingdom Lodge which was fantastic. We live in Spain (sorry I know this is a UK based board) and usually go to Disneyworld every eighteen months or so and because of the difficulty getting from here to Orlando, we normally go for fourteen or fifteen days. In September we went to Disneyland Paris for four days and that was brilliant and so we decided that we would go again next September. We then decided we would go for six days rather than just four days. We then decided that it would be nice to visit in December and see all the Christmas decorations and from there we decided that the cost for 6 days in Paris did not give as much value as 10 days in Florida. We then had an email from Disney offering a deal at the Caribbean and so we booked!! This will be the least number of days that we have ever been to Disneyworld for, travelling from Spain although we have been for a week travelling from England.

In the past we have traveled to England and then flown to Orlando and Sandford from Gatwick although for the last couple of trips we flown direct from Spain. Well, direct is not quite the right description; we travel from Alicante to Madrid to Philadelphia to Orlando and with that can take almost a complete day. Today our booking appeared on "My Disney experience" and that is exciting. It is nice to be able to start a bit of forward planning even if it is for something so far in the future.

Well done - doesn't matter how far away - more time for planning (well that's what I tell myself anyway!) :)

I feel the same about Paris, that's how we convinced our friends to come with us last December. They were pricing up Disneyland for an August trip, then we pointed out how much more value they'd get in Disney World!

Enjoy your planning, it's beautiful in December

Happy planning

Do stick around -I know we have a couple of regulars based in France so we are not just UK

It is now only 390 days to go and I have decided to count the period down in blocks of 10 days rather then the conventional period of weeks. If the next 39 blocks pass as quickly as the last block then we will be there in no time at all. Once the euphoria of booking a Disney holiday has passed it always feels a little bit flat. Our next "holiday" is a visit to England at Christmas to see the children and grandchildren and we are really looking forward to that. After that, our next thing on the horizon is a trip to tour the southern states of America in March next year. Both those trips will help fill the next 390 days till our Disney fix. I always think that part of the beauty of Disney holidays is the enjoyment of the pre-planning and looking forward to the various stages as the holiday approaches; booking any ADRs, fast passes etc. I guess our next stage will be booking the flights some time after we get back from touring. I really enjoy reading peoples trip reports and their plans and it all keeps the excitement going. 39 more blocks to go!!
