Love DCL but unfortunately for various reasons sailing is not in the cards for our next trip- we are going to WDW and staying on site- what do you all do to get that “cruise feeling” on vacation when a cruise isn’t on the itinerary?

Thanks!
For “that cruise feeling” try Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, two hours from Disney World. Get a balcony room in the Main Inn overlooking the Atlantic. Don‘t rent a car, just stay right there at the resort. Enjoy the beach, the pool, the restaurants, stargazing, etc. I call it my “land cruise”. And you can tack on a couple days at Disney world just like you might do after a DCL cruise.

Go to Epcot as a 'down' day, enjoy the various shows in the countries vs focusing on rides, enjoy whatever festival is going on, get lots of snack items from the festival kiosks.

Ah, Very Beach Resort - I love this idea and it makes a lot of sense - great advice!

I was in a wedding here just after the resort opened and we had multiple villas for the family/guests, it was wonderful!

Highly recommend this to anyone else who may be reading this thread.

Unfortunately, we will be traveling with a dog, so that takes this out of the running - we will be doing a split stay at Port Orleans- Riverside and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness (I know these two things aren't very "cruise-y" but we also love the boats at each of these resorts and at least get a bit of the "Tiana's Place" vibe at Port Orleans).
You can’t go wrong with these two resorts!
PO-Riverside is my favorite Disney World resort. And riding the boat transportation at both of these resorts will be just like mini cruises.
Enjoy!

I don't try. I let my land vacation be a land vacation and my cruise vacations be cruise vacations. You're going to lose something trying to make one be what it's not IMHO.

Go to Blizzard Beach / Typhoon Lagoon. Or SeaWorld’s Aquatica.

Eat at your favorite Disney Springs restaurant (or try something new, maybe upscale - and dress nicely, like formal night).

Make sure to see some fireworks.

Breakfast with characters. Winnie the Pooh and Friends are at MK’s Crystal Palace again.

Don’t spend all your time in crowded parks and queues. That seems like the antithesis of cruise vibes.

Sit on the couch /bed and watch Jungle Cruise. Laugh at the puns.

1) Spend as much time or more at the hotel than at the parks. The pools are a great place to unwind and there are also resort calendars with activities, arts/crafts, and movies under the stars.
2) Sleep in and have a nice breakfast. Give yourself permission to skip the stress and early morning stampede of rope droppers.
3) Book dinners at resorts where you can see fireworks so you can avoid the in park chaos of fireworks crowds.
4) Skip at least some headliners. Trying to do it all is what makes the parks stressful
5) Dole whip swirl (pineapple mixed with vanilla) is as good as the soft serve on the ships.
