Just saw this deal tweeted by Travelzoo. Has anyone stayed at Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista? Right now we have Port Orleans Riverside booked with free dining for the week leading up to Christmas. This might be too good of an offer to pass up, though, if it is a decent hotel. Anyone have opinions on this hotel? :goodvibes

Holy cow! What a deal! I would probably spend $10 more a night and go with Quality Suites. It is an all suite hotel. They also give you a free hot breakfast every morning. With the suites you could eat/pack some light meals and beverages. What a deal. UGH!!!! I may have to think my Dec free dining trip now.

We are in the same boat, then! I crunched the numbers and even by keeping one sit down a day and paying OOP, we would save about $1000!

This is currently the Comfort Inn which is being switched over to Clarion on Oct 1st. I've stayed at the Comfort Inn many times and it's a nice hotel. They just went thru a refurb, so all the rooms are new and nicely done. Be careful on the free breakfast claim. I've purchased thru travelzoo before and when checking in was told they don't honor the free breakfast thru travelzoo's deal.

We have just booked 4 nights at The Quality Suites via Travelzoo. Already had this booked form 3rd Dec so just saved $120. We then move onto Marriott Lakeshore Reserve for 2 weeks so wanted somewhere reasonable to start with. Have stayed at Quality Suites twice before and loved it so highly recommend.

:thumbsup2 thanks for the link... I just booked a long weekend in Oct and 6 nights in December... I love this hotel too.. they are the perfect location for both Disney & Universal.. and shopping as well :cool1:

We stayed there last November and thought it was great! Even better was the fact we got it for 29 a night thru travelzoo, I haven't seen a better deal then that in a long time. We are going to Universal this time and are staying at the Hampton Inn Florida Mall for 35 a night thru travelzoo. I know everyone swears by staying onsite for either Disney or Universal but how can you pass on those prices? Getting rates like that are the only reason I can go to Orlando once a year!:thumbsup2

Think I am going to go the off property route! Just can't pass up the savings with this deal!!!

For those that have stayed there before, how long does it take to get to the parks? Are you able to fit in nap breaks each day?

Not long really. I'd say about 10-15 minutes for Epcot/Studios, 15-20 for Magic or AK. And only about 5 minutes from Downtown Disney.

I did the numbers and it's still cheaper for me to stay on site. I'm at a value resort and upgraded to the other DDP that includes 1 TS. We have 1TS each night. If we paid OOP for those plus the $14 for theme park parking we would pay more than if we stayed in the park (even with $39 a night).

have you ever stayed by the Fl Mall? I have not but haven't heard great things about that area as far as hotels go. I know the Hampton Inn has a good reputation, but I am talking about the area itself. I have heard that it isn't the safest place to be at night.. if you have never stayed there, look into it before you are locked in there.. maybe you can switch to the Clarion.. it is about a 15 minute drive to Universal from there. You take Palm Parkway which turns into Turkey Lake Rd.. right to Hollywood Way.. make a right onto Hollywood Way and you are right there. There is much less traffic to deal with on this route too..

Thank you OP! This is just what I was looking for. I just booked a mom/daughter 5 night trip for mid october. I can't beat this room price.

No we haven't ever stayed over there but I read alot of reviews on tripadvisor.com and it seemed to get really good reviews. Some did say it wasn't the best area but I figure it's probably no worse than the area we stayed in our first time down there, it was a Best Western off Irlo Bronson in Kissimee - really congested, cheesy stores and lots of strange people all over! I think it will be ok since we are only in the room to sleep and shower and this hotel includes hot breakfast were the Comfort Inn did not.

Travelzoo said "book by 10/7", but I clicked on the link that took me to the Clarion website and it let me book a room for tomorrow night for $39. Think they'll honor it?? :confused3

We've been looking for a hotel for one night before we check in at the Contemporary, so you can't beat $39...especially with breakfast!

Thanks for posting!

We've stayed there a few times, before and after the renovations. I put a review in my TR. Here is a link to the review:

Thanks for that review!

I would think they would have to honor it. Have a fun trip!

If the link took you to the Clarion site and gave you a confirmation number for your reservation, you should have no problems. Just make sure you print out the copy and take it with you
