.

I have a Disneyland trip planned for October. Not optimistic that it'll actually happen. But I hope it does, and I hope your trips happen too!

You two are inspirations to us all. I'm curious — what are your latest merch purchases?

Disney sent me a birthday coupon last month for a discount on the website. I really like the Rebecca Hook jewelry (not super expensive, but good quality) and they had a Minnie flower necklace that I would have bought if I would have made it to F&G this year. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I miss the parks too much to watch videos though. They just make me cry. I am holding onto the hope that my late August trip will be a go.

Right before lockdown I bought a Mickey/ Minnie Wrap (like a scarf with sleeves) to cuddle up in.

I would love a Disney face mask.

I bought an ice cream maker. And I bought Dole Whip pineapple mix (on Amazon). So I could have a Dole Whip.

How does that work? I know there are home soft serve machines, but I've heard they don't work all that well. Something about requiring an internal bowl that needs to be frozen.

I have heard of someone people buying used Taylor or Stoelting soft serve machines for home use.

The last time I ordered Dole pineapple soft serve was at Magic Mountain, although that was for my kid using our membership snack credit. That was a float on pineapple juice. I ordered Dole mango on top of fruit. The fruit was frozen blueberries. I think they're best used for pies, because frozen fruit just doesn't taste like much until it thaws out. But Dole has more than just pineapple.

This one was back when they were still Kimberly-Clark Healthcare. They spun it off as a company called Halyard Health. Not sure where my parents got them, but they gave us a bunch of procedure masks including these Disney ones for our kid. They're pretty much impossible to find these days. Every source is sold out or sells out quickly.

i'll let you know once it gets here. LOL I plan on keeping the bowl in the deep freezer until we make it.
I bought Lemon and Pineapple flavors, to start.

I haven't posted on the DIS since last summer because the place was barely active. On a whim, I logged back on to see it looks like many of you have also had the same whim and logged on. Who knew social distancing would lead to a new rebirth for the DIS?
Years ago, the community board did 7 pages a day of posting, today, usually about 2. But still, 2 pages of posting on a board is not a shot in the wind. Still pretty busy.

Forgot about my many scents from Magic Candle Company! I have a different spray for every room. :)

Oh and I ordered 3 vintage posters from Planet Fan Cave.
I really like those. Have a few. The one that’s hard to capture is Pirates. But. Rome burning is almost spot on. As is Haunted Mansion.

It wasn't a Disney vacation year for us, so planning hasn't really changed, but I am watching more Disney+ since I've had the time. I've also been using my Mickey bowls for snacks, to give that cheerful touch. :earsgirl:

Under normal circumstances, I at least pop into the DIS pretty much daily, but I've been on more than usual, keeping up with more threads than I do when I'm busy.

  • Our 15yo DD broke out the xbox Kinect and played Disneyland to get the spring break fix she was missing.
  • The boys and DD15 watched Onward and Frozen 2, lots of other Disney shows
  • DH and I finally watched the last episode of the Mandalorian
  • I rebooked our March trip for July, and also booked our Thanksgiving trip
  • DH and I both have Disney parks/rides and animation as our zoom backgrounds for work. His office likes to play "Where in the world is xyz today"?

We watched Onward as soon as it dropped and have played about a million games of Toy Story 4 themed Trouble. I’m always Bo, DH is Woody & Buzz and DS is Ducky & Bunny. Nobody ever picks the Forky pegs.

I'm curious to know: has there been more or less Disney in your life as a result of quaratine, and what's the most ~Disney~ thing you've done in the last few weeks?
Same amount of Disney: watching a lot of ABC shows.

The most Disney thing I've done: (self-)designated a smoking area more than six feet in any direction from anyone who doesn't approach me directly, bring a cocktail, and relax.

Mine Train with Philharmonic Champagne as a close second.

Also their Christmas Shoppe smells exactly like a real tree. It’s crazy!
I just ordered more candles from Magic Candle Company. This time I ordered:
Flying Over India (love this in Soarin’)
African Lodge
Mine Train (on your recommendation)

Also got room scents in Haunted, African Lodge, Pirate Life, and Flying Over India.

I am going to need a lot more candles to get me through the next seven weeks at home. 😄

Haunted is one of my favorites! I buy that in air freshener for my car.

Watched some Dapper Dan performances on YouTube, something I never would have thought to do prior. We highly recommend the Boy Band medley. I was confused about the title until quite a ways in, but they do get there. IMO the real treat is an entirely different aspect of that performance which I had no idea about until watching the video.
