$35/night

I see that Park Inn Maingate East has an internet special for $35/night. I think Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista offers a similar rate. I'm looking for a clean, budget hotel. Any opinions on either PIME or CILBV? Do you have other suggestions in the budget hotel category? I prefer a hotel midway between WDW and Universal/Sea World.

For $35.00 a night you should be able to get a pretty decent room on priceline. If you don't want to take that chance shop around. Our last 2 trips we went the budget type hotel route. I paid $19.99 a night in April 2002. Then $24.99 a night in February 2003. I used these 2 websites. www.go2orlando.com and www.orlandoescape.com. They had really good deals, at the cheaper chain motels. Our rooms had nothing fancy. They were clean and modern. The pool was nice, it had cable and were in a safe nice area.

Thanks kilee. You managed to get awesome rates for your last two trips! How long before your trip did you book? I think I will wait until either February, when we should get our income tax refund, or April when I will get my vacation club check.
Since our trip is either at the end of October 2004 or end of November 2004 (still knocking around pulling DD out of school for 3 or 5 days), I'm not able to check availability at this time. Within the next month to 45 days I should be able to find out what great rates are out there. I plan to check the sites you mentioned and travelocity too.

I usually only book 4-8 weeks out from the trip. In 2/03, we actully had planned on going the second week in February. Then at the last minute we decided to go the first week in February. When I mean last minute--- we decided Friday night and left the next morning. I was able to still get a really great internet at the last minute.
