So glad you could join me! Just received the email confirmation that registration is confirmed! Of course, instead of getting ready for work, I wasted time because I just had to have a ticker in my signature - now I can really have fun planning and counting down just like all you other fabulous folk!
Thanks for joining me! It's so nice to be able to chat with people here instead of driving my family nuts! Got a little bogged down this weekend - DH 17 had her graduation on Saturday from noon until 11, safe grad party from midnight until 5:30 am (so glad I was "permitted" to chaperone) followed by final dance recital on Sunday from 3 until 10. We're a wee bit tired still!
Thank you - it's my mother that's really going to feel the brunt of the loss as she was one of the few that managed to maintain a somewhat good relationship with my grandmother, who was difficult to put it politely. But is is a good thing that she did not have to go through hip surgery and months of rehab at 94 - that would not have been a pleasant journey for her or the family or the health professionals involved. It sounds like it's going to be a small funeral, so we will be able to concentrate on happier memories.
This is exactly how I cope with stress and bad times, too. It's always why I must always have a trip being planned!Luckily in any time of stress, both good and bad stress, I can go to my "Happy Place" and think Disney thoughts
The one thing I wanted to flag you down on is this, since you say your DH is adverse to crowds... Historically, Saturday is the most crowded day for MK, due to all the locals coming on the weekend with kids. This is ALSO a holiday weekend here in the states, Martin Luther King Day, which will elevate those crowds even further. You might want to consider switching this out and do MK on Friday, and Epcot on Saturday. Just a thought.Saturday, January 16 - Magic Kingdom Day!
I'm late but I'm here to follow along!I've been mulling over the idea of going on another solo trip in March of 2016.
There is such a variety of food in WDW that it is a great place to begin experimenting!I have used the dining plan for my 3 trips so far, and have been inspired by some of the incredible photos and food reports that I might want to broaden my burger horizons and try for some more upscale food choices.
How fantastic this news is!casually announced that he might have an opportunity to go to a conference in January 2016. In Orlando! And I already have an approved week of holidays booked for that exact same week! Seriously, who spilled the pixie dust? He's a teacher, and I've never heard of this conference before! Will I sleep tonight? I don't know, but it's sure going to be fun dreams tonight I'm sure!
*high fives!*Ok, after tossing and turning all night, I guess I am planning 2 possible trips!
Sounds like a terrific way to see how he reacts to Disney!DH has never been to DW, and it is a very interesting idea to be able to show him some highlights of Disney while not subjecting him to crowd overload
sounds pretty fabulous!a commando style week of me going happy Disney crazy. I would also have 3 days to myself at Disney while he was attending the conference.![]()
Yay for your new vacation ticker! So glad you could join me! Just received the email confirmation that registration is confirmed! Of course, instead of getting ready for work, I wasted time because I just had to have a ticker in my signature - now I can really have fun planning and counting down just like all you other fabulous folk!
What an exciting and busy time of life for you both!DH 17 had her graduation on Saturday
I'm sorry for your loss and hope the good memories outweigh the bad.my grandmother passing away on the weekend after years of illness, it was nice to have the happy crazy distractions.
I hope everything went well for you and yours. It sounds like it's going to be a small funeral, so we will be able to concentrate on happier memories.
Having a Disney Happy Place and a trip to plan are definitely blessings!Luckily in any time of stress, both good and bad stress, I can go to my "Happy Place" and think Disney thoughts
We stayed at POFQ last time, and it was very nice.I am hoping for POFQ
Sounds like you've told yourself some very good advice...but maybe a Little Mermaid room for your solo trip?there are those elusive Little Mermaid rooms, but I think those might be a bit girly for DH.
Oh how neat! I hope that trip is incredible too! Will you post pictures? Also, I am not booking anything until we are back from our summer trip to Ireland. I want to make sure that DH is able to handle flying!
