330 Minute wait for Space Mountain

We love going at New Years, although we would never wait that long for anything.

I will say that some people do prefer to wait in a long line on a bonkers day like this because it is somewhat controlled as opposed to fighting the crowds outside. Friends of mine voluntarily stood in a 200+ minute line last year just because they were sick of fighting the outside crowds. They didn’t want to leave the park since they were staying late, but wanted a reprieve from the craziness so they got in line for Space. They said they felt very zen in the Space Mountain line :) I personally would not do it this way, but I’ve been there a few times at New Years and definitely understand wanting a little break in the park from the craziness!
I've never thought about it this way but I can see it. I don't ever see myself going on a day like today because the idea of that much of a crowd stresses me out, but if you're committed to staying for the whole day no matter what, I can see how this is a good idea!

Well, the NYE crowds will never have to worry about me getting in their way. If that's what people want to do though, cool for them. As for me I'll just sit at home and quietly count down my last 13 days until my next trip.

Mickey wouldn't be able to pay ME enough to wait in that line. No ride is worth waiting anything more than 20-30 minutes for, maximum. Any New Years cheer I might have felt would have been killed being surrounded by that many people or waiting in those lines.

Still 240 per the app... good grief!

My goodness. On any given day, the lines at Disneyland park are always shorter than the ones at the Magic Kingdom park. At 10:00pm, Space Mountain at Disneyland was only 65 minutes. I can't imagine!

Happy new year everyone!

That is the truth! Except for rope drop I'm not waiting in many lines for more than 30 minutes.

Seems more sensible to stand in that line to me than being in the pen in Times Square in NYC in freezing cold temperatures for 10 hours, recommended time to get there is 2 p.m. // but ouch. Crowd level 10s at the MK are pretty insane.

Or skip both on peak days and have minimal waits?

I did that in 2012. I wore the diaper, I stood there for 10 hours to see the ball drop. It was awesome!
