10-15 now, depending on how I hit the lights and traffic.
Since I have flex time and can be here pretty much when I want within a very generous window, I just give myself 15 unless I'm supposed to be in for a meeting, in which case I give myself 30.
Between 25 and 90 minutes depending on traffic and weather. During one particularly nasty snowstorm last winter, it took me nearly 3 hours to drive the 20 miles home.
I'm a SAHM. DH on the other hand, has an hour and 20 minute commute, one way. This takes him over mostly back roads although after doing this for 11 years, he's quite familiar with the route! He starts work at 8:30 am but leaves here at about 5:45 am. If he didn't leave that early, he'd end up with school bus traffic, etc., plus he always has extra work to get done.
It takes me 30-35 minutes to get to work. It doesn't bother me much - it's mostly highway driving, so there's not a lot of traffic lights, etc. that I have to worry about.
I live about 5 miles from my place of employment, almost unheard of for people who live in the D.C. area. It takes me about 15 minutes, I allow myself 15.
I have about a 15-20 minute drive give or take. Unless the weather is bad out, I allow that time. Since it is all city driving not much changes from day to day and even an accident doesn't slow me down.
I use to live 6 blocks from work, I was spoiled! Now I am 6 miles, still not bad, there is no traffic at 5:30 in the morning, so I get to work in just afew mins.
It takes me about 5 minutes to get to work now. I really do love that. The best part is that it is mostly 4 lanes and I can pass the slow people! I don't speed or anything, I just want to go the speed limit! I leave the house 15 minutes early because I like to go to my desk and get situated before our morning prayer time/devotions.
I'm like micca. I'm there a good hour before start time. I'm only 3 miles away and traffice at 5 am is extremely light. If the weather is bad, the traffic is non-existent. They must be digging out. I live in a condo, so all I have to do is clean the car off and drive away.
My best time was 45 seconds. Really. I live between a quarter to an half a mile from work and there is only one light. If it is green when I get to it I can make it in a minute or less. And before anyone asks...the reason I don't walk to work is that there is no sidewalk and I go to work around 4:00AM. Don't really want to walk in the dark even though this is normally a good neighborhood
45 min to 1 hour to get to school but I leave at 3pm for a 5:40pm class. So do several others and since the classroom is vacant before class we study and chat in there until time to start.
If I drove it would be 10 minutes......except during the times I want to go to work and leave work I hit rush hour traffic so It would take something like 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Plus I would have to pay a minimum of $80 a month to park if I got lucky to get a cheap lot. So instead I take the trolly(subway) The stop is not even a block from my house. The ride is around 15-30 minutes depending on how many stops plus another 5 to walk the 2 blocks to work. So I figure 4 minutes. I have a flex schedlue so it is not bad!! thank goodness for public transportation. My monthly pass costs $60 but It is deducted right from my paycheck so it is pretax dollars!! Gotta love it!!
It takes 10 minutes for me to get to work and that's how much time I allow myself to get there. I have no reason to be there early and since we don't open until a half an hour later it's no biggie if I get there right at 8:30 or a minute or two later.
